摘要： A portable electronic device with a touch screen display for photo management is disclosed. One aspect of the invention involves a computer-implemented method in which the portable electronic device displays an array of thumbnail images corresponding to a set of photographic images. The device replaces the displayed array of thumbnail images with a user-selected photographic image upon detecting a user contact with a corresponding thumbnail image in the array. The user-selected photographic image is displayed at a larger scale than the corresponding thumbnail image. The portable device displays a different photographic image in replacement of the user-selected photographic image in accordance with a scrolling gesture. The scrolling gesture comprises a substantially horizontal movement of user contact with the touch screen display.

More particularly, the invention provides a method of generating a video-based diary of a period of time based on information such as, for example, incoming, outgoing, and missed calls, voicemails, sent and received text messages, pictures, sound and/or video clips, location, emails, etc. The format and content included in the generated video-based diary can be predetermined by the user so that only desired stored information is included in the video-based summary. The generated video-based diary can be utilized by the user in the future as a reference for remembering past events. The generated video-based diary can also be uploaded via the phone to a blog, if so desired.

摘要： A new display system and method is described, utilizing a cellular telephone (figure 5, element 510) having digital camera capability and a television linked directly over a UWB wireless signal (figure 5, element 525) forming a UWB wireless video pico-net. The system utilizes a digital camera unit (figure 5, element 540) to capture picture or video images for UWB transmission directly to the television acting as a pico-net host controller, either independently or together with the cellular telephone operating as a pico-net child. The display system comprises and one or more remote devices (figure 5, element 510) an a host display (figure 5, element 550) communicating on a UWB wireless network (figure 5, element 525). The host display comprises a display for presentation of the picture or video images and a UWB transceiver for processing image data from the picture or video images, for selectively sending and receiving the image data based on a request from the child. The one or more remote devices comprise a digital camera for capturing the pictur or video images and another UWB transceiver as used in the host display. The host display (figure 5, element 550) has a generally larger display for improved presentation of the captured picture or video images useful and amusing for group, party, wedding, and conference viewing, or simply for enhanced personal enjoyment. For picture or video image sharing, the system further facilitates downloading the current picture or video images from the host display television (figurer 5, element 550) to a requesting cellular telephone or digital camera equipped with the UWB transceiver. The UWB display system provides sufficient bandwidth to support numerous such download requests simultaneously, while utilizing a transmission technology having minimal power consumption.

摘要： A handheld portable communications terminal includes a freehand input device, such as a touch screen or a digital pen, and plural messaging applications. One messaging application allows a user to input a drawing using the freehand input device, and produces drawing data in a standard or commonly-used format representative of the drawing. A second messaging application, selected by the first messaging application, sends the drawing data in a message in a standard or commonly-used format (e.g. SMS, MMS, IM, email). This allows the drawing to be reproduced by a receiving terminal equipped with a standard or common messaging application. The first messaging application provides for the immediate entry of a drawing using a freehand input device in response to the opening of the messaging application. It provides means to allow a recipient address to be entered or selected in response to an input indicating the completion of content entry. It also allows the message to be sent through a single user input in response to the entry or selection of a recipient address.

摘要： Navigation management occurs in a mobile device during a directory up-down scroll and it involves a user interface and a directory (e.g. mobile directory of photos). The directory is a tree-shaped hierarchy of nodes such that any node on the directory is selectable by a user via the user interface. This way navigation can flow up-down through the directory. Additionally, the navigation management involves associating a state and one or more action items with each node and saving the state. The state is an expanded or collapsed condition of the node. If the state of a particular node is expanded, additional nodes at a lower level of the hierarchy are presented to the user. If its state is collapsed only that particular node is presented and the other nodes are hidden. The user interface includes for any node selected by the user its associated one or more action items.
