    • The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a cable-type secondary battery, which includes a current collector having a horizontal cross section of a predetermined shape and an active material layer formed on the surface of the current collector, and which comprises electrodes extended in the longitudinal direction and disposed in parallel to each other. The manufacturing method for the electrode comprises the steps of: fabricating electrode slurry by injecting active material, a polymer binder, and a solvent into an extruder; extruding and coating the extrude slurry on the surface of a current collector while continuously supplying the current collector to the extruder; and drying the current collector on which the electrode slurry has been coated and thus forming an active material layer. Since the method for manufacturing a cable-type secondary battery using extrusion coating according to the present invention enables continuous coating of the electrode slurry on the current collector, the method is suitable for manufacturing a cable-type secondary battery extended in the longitudinal direction, and thus increases productivity. In addition, it is easy to adjust the thickness of a coating layer through adjustment of the conveying speed of a current collector or the extrusion speed of electrode slurry.

    • The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a cable type rechargeable battery and to a cable type rechargeable battery manufactured by the same, in which the method comprises the steps of: preparing an electrode assembly which includes an internal current collector, a negative-electrode active material layer, a positive-electrode active material layer, and an electrolyte layer interposed between the negative-electrode active material layer and the positive-electrode active material layer, has a horizontal cross section of a predetermined shape, and is extended in the longitudinal direction; preparing a heat-shrink protective covering by forming an external current collector thin film on the inner surface of a heat-shrink tube; and inserting the electrode assembly into the heat-shrink protective covering and then heating the heat-shrink protective covering to be shrunk, thereby allowing the heat-shrunk protective covering to adhere closely to the outer surface of the electrode assembly. The manufacturing method of the present invention does not require a post-treatment process such as a drying process, thereby simplifying the manufacturing method and enabling continuous processing. In addition, the external current collector is attached inside the heat-shrink tube to increase close adhesion between the active material layer and the external current collector, so that it is possible to prevent deterioration of battery performance.
