    • A computer arrangement (10) for inducing a retraction of a computer component in response to a sensed emergency or security condition. The computer arrangement (10) can include an enclosure (42) with an open inner volume and a support member (24) extendably and retractably retained relative to the enclosure (42). A computer component, such as a monitor (12), a keyboard (14), or a laptop computer (52), can be retained relative to the support member (24). One or more sensors (15) can sense an emergency or security condition thereby to induce a retraction of the support member (24) and, possibly, a closing of a lid (36). The keyboard (14) or laptop computer (52) can be retained relative to a support unit (16, 50) or cradle (50), which can be manually or automatically pivotable between a storage configuration and a second configuration.

    • An articulated support chair (20) has a frame (16), a seat (10) cantilevered from the frame, and a back (12) hanging from the frame, with a lower end of the back hinged to an underside of the seat. A lumbar support (14) extends from the seat and pivots to maintain supporting contact as the angles of the seat and back change under varying load conditions. In further embodiments, arm rests (24) may be rigidly coupled below the seat to the back, and a fold-down tablet (26) may be affixed to the frame at one side of the seat. Wedge units (30) assemble in a modular fashion to define straight or different curved or bent rows for waiting room, conference room, or utility and light bays between adjacent seats.     • A device for cutting sheet material wound in a cylindrical roll (2) includes a blade member (4) having a cutting edge (6) extending the length thereof, and positioning means (12, 13, 14) extending from the roll of sheet material to the blade member of positioning the blade parallel to the axis of the roll. The positioning means (12, 13, 14) includes portion (18) thereof distal with respect to the blade in rolling engagement with a surface of the roll to align the roll axis and the cutting edge. In one embodiment, an arm (12, 13) extends from each end of the blade (4) to the roll and a pin (20) protrudes from the arm inside the roll to bear against the inner surface thereof. A bearing (18), which may be a bushing with a diameter substantially less than an inner diameter of the roll, rotates on the pin (20) so that the blade (4) is pendulously suspended from the inner surface of the roll. Graduations (16) are provided on one of both sides of the blade member (4), and methods are disclosed for using the blade member as a drafting instrument to measure, and to draw horizontal and vertical lines.
