摘要： A filter and method of making is provided. The method comprising: forming a plurality of sheets of filter media, each sheet of filter media having an inlet end and an outlet end, wherein each of the plurality of sheets of filter media are formed by the steps of: thermoforming a first layer of filtration media to have a plurality of channels, the first layer having an upper surface and a lower surface; sonically welding a portion of a second layer of filtration media to the first layer of filtration media to form the sheet of filtration media, the sheet of filtration media having a plurality of fluid channels each having an inlet opening at one end of the sheet and a sealed end at another end of the sheet; and securing the plurality of sheets together by applying a strip of adhesive between each upper surface of each first layer facing the second layer of another sheet of filter media stacked upon the upper surface of the first layer of the filtration media.

摘要： Disclosed are methods of providing short-term protection to an automobile exterior. In one embodiment, the method comprises applying an aqueous film-forming automotive coating composition to an automobile exterior; drying the aqueous film-forming automotive coating composition at ambient conditions to form a protective coating that does not substantially alter the gloss or color of the automobile exterior; and removing the protective coating after a period of time post-application in a manner that does not result in damage to the automobile exterior and produces a biodegradable waste stream. A two component package is also provided, the package comprising an aqueous film-forming automotive coating composition comprising a film-forming polymer and a solvent; and an aqueous wash removal composition that is at least one of a surfactant wash, a solvent wash, a solvent surfactant wash, or a combination thereof. In another embodiment, a curable coating composition is applied and cured by natural sunlight.

摘要： A standoff chemical agent detection system passively detects chemical agents in a scene. Interferograms are generated from received scene spectral information. In one embodiment, the spectral information is apodized, and a chirp Fast Fourier Transform is performed on the interferogram. A calibration curve is applied to correct gain and offset, and a feature vector is generated based on comparison of the normalized spectrum to predetermined chemical shape templates. The feature vector is provided to a classifier to identify the existence and identity of a chemical agent threat. The chemical agent detection system utilizes a lower resolution search mode, and a higher resolution confirmation mode, wherein both modes utilize the same detection algorithms. The neural network is trained using a large database of training data. The network is iteratively trained using partially random subsets of the training data. Problematic data from previous subsets is included in further subsets to improve the training.

摘要： An improved oil filter, for use with an internal combustion engine, comprises a hollow filter housing defining a chamber therein and having an inlet and an outlet with a flow path therebetween; a mechanically active filter member disposed inside the filter housing in the flow path; and a chemically active filter member disposed inside the filter housing in the flow path. The chemically active filter member comprises a plurality of composite oil additive pellets. The plurality of pellets is interconnected to form a substantially integral permeable member, and the substantially integral permeable member is impregnated with an alkaline composition. The alkaline composition is provided to counteract acidic combustion products in lubricating oil in an internal combustion engine.
