摘要： An improved brachytherapy treatment system includes an access member having a proximal end and a distal portion extending distally therefrom to define a guideway, with the distal portion being positionable within a patient, and a locating member adapted to locate a radiation source relative thereto and having a distal portion positionable in the guideway of the access member from the proximal end thereof The distal portions of the access member and locating member may be adapted to establish a fixed relative position therebetween, e.g. via inflation of an inflatable member interconnected to the distal portion of the locating member. The access member and locating member may include complimentary portions configured to require positioning of the locating member in a predetermined orientation relative to the access member for insertion in the guideway. The system may further include a pivotable collar member interconnected to and extending about and laterally away from the locating member.

摘要： Electrosurgical forceps for delivering microwave energy into biological tissue from a non-resonant unbalanced lossy transmission line structure located within or formed by the jaws of the forceps. The transmission line structure may be formed across the gap between the jaw element by opposed conductive elements, which are respectively electrically connected to inner and outer conductors of a coaxial cable. Alternatively, each jaw element may comprise its own lossy transmission line, whereby a power splitter is used to divide microwave energy from the coaxial cable. The forceps may be used endoscopically in the gastrointestinal tract or laparoscopically or in open surgery.

摘要： A sound treatment system includes an audio system for transmitting tones of predetermined frequencies through a plurality of outputs. A sound transmitting device is electrically connectable to one or more of the outputs, and includes a speaker for transmitting the tones received. The speaker is adjacent to crystal which is vibrationally responsive to the tones. A method of using the system includes generating tonal segments of predetermined duration, modulating the frequencies, and compiling these into an audio program. One or more sound transmitting devices are placed on desired locations of the body, and their inputs connected to corresponding outputs of the audio system. The generating step includes compiling selected predetermined frequencies into an audio program to generate the tonal segments, as well as modulating tones of one or more desired frequencies to generate the tonal segments.
