    • A component (30) is disclosed for use in manufacturing articles such as printed circuit boards which comprises a laminate constructed of two sheets of copper foil (33, 35) which, in a finished printed circuit board, constitutes functional elements and a sheet of aluminum (31) which constitutes a discardable element. One surface of each of the copper sheets and both surfaces of the aluminum sheet are essentially uncontaminated and engagable with each other at interfaces. Each of the uncontaminated interfaces of the sheets have central zones inwardly of the edges of the sheets. A margin on each of the copper foil sheets extends beyond each of two edges of the aluminum sheet. Adhesive (40) is located between the sheets outwardly of the central zones to maintain the essentially uncontaminated character of the central zones. The margins of the copper sheets are electrically joined (83) in a pattern such that when there are a multiplicity of components assembled with dielectric material in a book to make printed circuit boards and when electric current is passed through the copper sheets, the book is heated uniformly to melt and cure the resin.
