The hermetic compressor includes a cylinder defining a compressing chamber, a cylinder head coupled to the cylinder for sealing the compressing chamber and having a refrigerant discharge chamber communicating with the compressing chamber, a discharge muffler having an interior space communicating with the refrigerant discharge chamber, and an exhaust pipe coupled to an exit of the muffler. The exhaust pipe is located in the muffler for reducing a pulsation of the refrigerant to be discharged from the refrigerant discharge chamber into the discharge muffler. The exhaust pipe includes a multi-path portion defining a plurality of small-diameter guide flow paths, and a single-path portion defining a large-diameter single flow path for guiding the refrigerant from the multi-path portion to the outside of the muffler.
