A method of making a kink-resistant sheath (80) is described which includes coating a wire (50) with a plastic material (52) and winding the coated wire on a mandrel (54) followed by heating to weld the plastic material (52) together into a sheath (80). In another embodiment, the mandrel (100) may be coated with a plastic coating (102) followed by application of the wire member (104) and a second coating operation (106).

The embossing cylinders (6) peripherally exhibit two matrices which produce, on the side of the film (5) bearing the microspheres, a distribution of microscopic reliefs, and on the opposite side, corresponding cavities. A base layer (4) of material is applied to the side with the cavities, filling them. The heat-formed film comprises a first layer (31) of a transparent resin interpositioned between the microspheres (2) and a thin reflecting layer (32) containing metal, which in turn is covered by several layers (33 and 34) of protective material coupled to a layer (35) of heat-formable material. The reflector laminate is usefully applied in the field of horizontal road signals.

The core layer comprises an extruded thermoplastic foam and optionally one or more adjacent layers of a substantially non-foamed thermoplastic. A decorative layer such a felt layer or a fabric layer is preferably laminated to the core layer. The headliner is substantially resistant to sagging and able to substantially maintain its thermoformed shape when installed in the vehicle. 摘要： A composition containing a thermoplastic elastomer and fine elastic particles is extruded in the shape of a sheet from an extruder, and this sheet type material is extended, whereby a skin material having minute recesses and projections, which occur due to the fine elastic particles, in and on a surface thereof is produced. This skin material may have a bonding agent layer, a substrate layer or a resin foam layer laminated on the surface thereof which is on the opposite side of such an apparently delustered surface thereof. Such a skin material can be manufactured with a high productivity without causing any environmental problems concerning a solvent to occur. When a molding operation is carried out by using this skin material, a molded product having an apparently delustered surface is obtained.

摘要： Compositions, methods and systems for manufacturing arcticles, including containers and packaging materials, from hydraulically settable and inorganically filled materials are disclosed. Suitable compositions are prepared by mixing together a hydraulically settable binder or organic binder, water, and appropriate additives, such as aggregates, fibers, and rheology-modifying agents, which impart predetermined properties so that an article formed therefrom has the desired performance criteria. The desired article can be molded from the mixture using a variety of moding processes including: die pressing, injection modling, blow molding, jiggering, wet sheet molding, and dry sheet molding. The sheet forming processes require the mixture to first be fashioned into a sheet, such as by the use of an extruder (12) or rollers, after which the sheet is formed, it is hardened. Printed indicya and a coating can then the applied.

摘要： Compositions, methods, and apparatus for manufacturing sheets having a highly inorganically filled matrix prepared by mixing together an organic polymer binder, water, one or more inorganic aggregate materials, fibers, and optional admixtures in the correct proportions in order to form a sheet which has the desired performance criteria. The inorganically filled mixtures are formed into sheets by first extruding the mixtures (40) and then passing the extruded materials between a set of rollers (50). The rolled sheets are dried in an accelerated manner to form a substantially hardened sheet, such as by heated rollers and/or a drying chamber. The inorganically filled sheets may have properties substantially similar to sheets presently made form traditional materials like paper, paperboard, polystyrene, plastic or metal. Such sheets can be rolled, pressed, scored, perforated, folded, and glued. They have particular utility in the mass production of articles, such as food and beverage containers, and packaging materials.
