摘要： A generator transfer function regulator incorporating two control loops. The first control loop produces a first generator excitation control signal (U) which varies to compensate for variations in the magnitude of the generator output voltage (Vt). The second control loop produces a second generator excitation control signal (Ua) which varies so as to maintain substantially constant the response of the generator system to variations in the generator output. The two control signals are combined and applied to a conventional generator exciter circuit (2). As a result, the generator terminal voltage (Vt) control performance achieved by the AVR under open circuit conditions is effectively maintained when the generator is loaded over its range of operation, irrespective of the power system which the generator feeds.

摘要： The invention concerns a circuit designed to supply, without the need for a battery, the electronic control unit of a machine powered by an internal-combustion engine, in particular a hand-held machine, with a nominal d.c. voltage (Vcc), the machine having an a.c. generator driven by the engine to produce a voltage (Ug) which is dependent on the running speed of the internal-combustion engine. The circuit (10) has a first rectifier circuit (D1, C1) which converts the generator voltage (Ug) into an intermediate d.c. voltage (Uz) which ensures that the electronics of the machine is supplied with the necessary nominal d.c. voltage, even during the start phase, without the need for additional batteries. In order to provide a simple, robustly built circuit of this kind, the invention proposes that the circuit (10) also includes first means (L, Ic2, D3, C3) which are connected downstream to the first rectifier circuit (D1, C1) and which generate the nominal voltage (Vcc) by controlled up consversion of the intermediate voltage (Uz) for as long as, at low running speeds, the intermediate voltage (Uz) is lower than the nominal voltage (Vcc).

摘要： A variable speed constant frequency generating system (50) for generating constant frequency electrical output power from a variable speed source of motive power (60) includes an exciter (52) for generating excitation current, a main generator (78) for developing the output power, both of the exciter and main generator being driven by a shaft (62) coupled to the motive power source (60) and power converters (64) mounted on the shaft to transfer power between the exciter and the main generator. At shaft speeds below synchronous speed, i.e., that speed which would produce the desired output frequency when DC power is coupled to the main generator field windings (74) the exciter output is rectified and inverted so that alternating current power of proper frequency is delivered to the field windings (74) of the main generator to maintain the output of the generator (78) at a constant frequency. At synchronous speed, the power converters (64) transfer substantially only DC power to the main generator windings (74). At speeds above synchronous speed, power is returned back to the exciter (52) to cause same to operate as a motor and apply negative torque to the shaft and thereby maintain the output power at the desired frequency.
