摘要： A security paper, having a first paper ply and a second paper ply, and a plastic ply made of a thermoplastic polymer material arranged between the paper layers (1, 2), wherein a strip-shaped tear-off film is embedded between the paper layers on the inner side of the second paper layer and at least partially embedded into the plastic layer. Hidden information is arranged on the inner side of the first paper ply and is covered by the strip-shaped tear-off film or is arranged on the surface of the strip-shaped tear-off film facing the first paper ply. The hidden information can be exposed by the strip-shaped tear-off film together with a strip of the second paper ply being irreversibly torn off the multi-layer substrate.

摘要： A method of forming a security document, comprises providing a thread comprising at least one region of heat-transformable material, this material having an optical effect which is transformable in response to applied heat. The thread is integrated with a document substrate material during a substrate forming process, so as to produce a security document substrate having at least one windowed region in which the thread is exposed at the substrate surface, and at least one bridge region in which the thread is not exposed. A patterned heat process is then applied, causing a structural modification in the heat-transformable layer of the thread so as to produce an observable optical effect representative of the heat pattern at one or more predetermined positions with respect to one or more of the said windowed region or bridge region. Security documents bearing threads with such optically transformable materials are also disclosed.

摘要： The invention comprises a method for producing identification marks (5) on layer-structured paper or board (7) to be manufactured in a continuous web and the marked papers and boards obtained with this method. With this method, the marks (5) are made with a laser beam on a moving web form fiber layer (1), on which a second layer of material (6) is subsequently overlaid in such a way that the marks remain inside the layer-structure of the moving web. The second material layer (6) may comprise a second fiber layer or, for example, a polymer coating. The laser marking could take place, for example, by burning the surface of the fiber layer (1) or by engraving it. Inside the layer structure, the marks (5) are protected, but detectable with a detector to ensure the authenticity of the material. The marked paper or board is suitable for product packages to be protected against product forgeries.

摘要： A security paper authenticating system comprises, in combination, a security paper carrying both starch and an iodate salt, typically potassium iodate, and an authenticating composition comprising an acidic solution of an iodide salt, typically potassium iodide, the system being such that on applying the authenticating composition to authentic security paper, as by a pen, brush or stamp pad, iodine is generated and a characteristic starch-iodine coloration is produced. The authenticating composition is preferably aqueous or part-aqueous, and is preferably made acidic by means of a weak organic acid such as tartaric acid. The authenticating composition preferably also contains an antioxidant such as ascorbic acid. The invention extends to the paper and the authenticating composition individually.
