    • An open end spinning method includes the step of providing a spinning chamber with an annular slip wall. A sliver of fiber material is placed onto the annular slip wall that widens continuously in the direction of sliver introduction into the spinning chamber. The angle of the annular slip wall to a rotational axis of the spinning chamber is between 8.degree. and 12.degree.. A yarn is formed from the fiber material in the yarn formation zone which is located within the portion of the annular slip wall upstream of a widest diameter of the annular slip wall viewed in the direction of sliver introduction. The fiber material is removed as a yarn from the spinning chamber through a yarn removal channel, extending along the rotational axis of the spinning chamber, in the direction opposite the direction of sliver introduction.

    • For the improvement of open-end spinning rotor, whereby the spinning rotor is connected to its shaft via a coupling, the coupling (2) is made as a separate component. The coupling is provided with a first seat (21) for the rotor pot (11) and with a second seat (22) for the supporting element (12). Provisions are also made for the coupling to be provided with a locking element (25) which is conical and which locks the rotor pot (11) together with its supporting element (12) as a result of the centrifugal force during operation of the spinning rotor.

    • An open-end spinning device has a spinning rotor defining a fiber collection groove between a rotor bottom and an open-end of the spinning rotor. The rotor further includes a wall extending from the fiber collection groove to the open end of generally less than 6.0 mm. A rotor cover has an extension reaching into the interior of the spinning rotor. The extension includes at least a portion of a fiber feeding channel for feeding a fiber and air mixture into the rotor. A feed surface is disposed essentially parallel to a plane through a fiber collection groove into the extension adjacent the fiber feeding channel so that fibers exiting the feeding channel are directed along the feed surface. The feed surface has a radial dimension so that an open radial distance of less than 4.0 mm exists between the feed surface and the wall or fiber collection groove which is directly radially opposite of the feed surface.
