    • A wire-processing machine or apparatus includes a wire-feeding apparatus for guiding a wire, wherein the wire-processing machine or apparatus contains a wire drive for forward movement of the wire and a guide pipe with an entry opening and an exit opening. The wire-processing machine or apparatus contains a swivel unit with drive and a wire-gripping apparatus which is arranged on a swivel arm, wherein an exit side end of the guide pipe is fastened to the swivel arm. The wire drive and the guide pipe are arranged in such manner that the wire can be shot-in through the guide pipe. The wire-feed apparatus further contains a length-compensating unit which is arranged in the area of the guide pipe and which, in a first state, shortens an effective length of the guide pipe and, in a second state, lengthens the effective length of the guide pipe.

    • A feed mechanism includes a feed slide movable between a retracted position and an advanced position. The feed slide is configured to feed a product strip during a feed stroke as the feed slide is moved from the retracted position to the advanced position and the feed slide is movable with respect to the product strip during a return stroke as the feed slide is moved from the advanced position to the retracted position. The feed mechanism also includes feed fingers pivotally coupled to the feed slide at corresponding attachment points. The feed fingers are movable between an engaged position and a released position, wherein the feed fingers are configured to contact the product strip in the engaged position and the feed fingers are configured to be positioned away from the product strip in the released position. The feed fingers are moved to the released position prior to the feed slide moving along the return stroke.

    • The yarn feeding device for a yarn-consuming textile machine includes a mechanism for positively feeding yarn to a textile machine according to predetermined yarn consuming speed changes and timings of those changes, this mechanism having a rotary yarn feeding element (1,83) carrying a main yarn reserve (84), a motor (82) for rotating the yarn feeding element (1,83) at a motor rotation speed according to the variable yarn consuming speed and a motor controller (51, 57) for controlling the motor; a yarn reserve device (3,78; 20, 77) for building up or reducing an auxiliary yarn reserve consisting of a portion of yarn extending between the main yarn reserve and the textile machine, when changes in the yarn consuming speed occur that are so rapid that the motor (82) temporarily cannot change the motor rotation speed to deliver yarn from the rotary yarn feeding element at the yarn consuming speed because of motor inertia; a controller for the yarn reserve device (3,78; 20,77) which increases or decreases the auxiliary yarn reserve so that, when the predetermined yarn consuming speed changes, the yarn is fed into the textile machine from the auxiliary yarn reserve at the yarn consuming speed of the textile machine in spite of the motor inertia.

    • An improved tube drive apparatus includes drive units disposed in respective orientations angularly displaced about and radially extending from a longitudinal centerline of a tube to be driven by the drive units and a drive train drivingly coupling a motor to the drive units for transmitting driving motion thereto. Each drive unit includes an endless flexible drive belt, a pair of spaced rotatable members entraining the drive belt such that an end of the belt drivingly engages the tube for transmitting driving motion thereto. One rotatable member is drivingly coupled to the drive train and the other rotatable member is angularly adjustable relative to the one rotatable member and the centerline of the tube such that runs of the belt can be changed between generally parallel and criss-cross orientations for varying the motion of the tube produced by engagement of the belt from solely axial rotation to solely longitudinal movement and any combintion of the two motions therebetween. A ratchet screw is provided for adjusting the angular relationship between the two rotatable members and thereby the degree of twist in the drive belt and the direction of motion of the tube.
