摘要： A racking protection device that includes a housing and vibration monitor. The vibration monitor is arranged to record the vibration transmitting through a racking component. The housing includes an alert for alerting a user when the racking requires inspection for damage to impacts. The vibration monitor records the frequency and time of each impact. The vibration monitor includes a memory that counts and records the number of minor impacts. The vibration monitor determines a minor impact when the peak frequency is between a minimum and maximum pre-set level for a predetermined time period. When a predeteiiiiined number of minor impacts is exceeded, the alert is arranged to alert the user to inspect the racking for damage. When the frequency exceeds the maximum pre-set level for a predetermined time period the vibration monitor determines that a severe impact has occurred and the alert is arranged to alert the user to inspect the racking for damage.

摘要： Impact indicators which include an impact registering structure are provided for a package. The impact registering structure registers a location and an elapsed time of an impact of excessive force on the package. The structure includes a first region, a second region, and a barrier film. The first region contains a first element, and the second region contains a second element. The first and second elements are selected to register the location and the elapsed time of the impact when coming in contact. The barrier film separates the first and second regions, and is calibrated to rupture with a specified impact force. Once ruptured, the first element and the second element contact, in part, to provide a location indication of the rupture in the barrier film and a time elapsed indication indicative of the elapsed time from the rupture in the barrier film.

摘要： A packaging material comprised of a gas-impermeable base layer, an indicator layer, and a gas-impermeable top layer is disclosed. The top layer is selected to rupture upon experiencing an impingement or impact that exceeds a predetermined threshold. The indicator layer is configured to change visual appearance upon exposure to ambient air. The top layer further may be configured into a plurality of cells, with each cell filled with a gas that is inert with respect to the indicator layer. The cells may be of a size and shape configured to indicate the location and shape of an impingement or impact, to alert a recipient of an item protected by the packaging material of an area that may require further inspection.
