摘要： The invention relates to a printing wheel for a rotary printer comprising a plurality of type rings (6) positioned side by side on a cylindrical support (3). On their outer periphery said type rings (6) carry printing types (9), while on their inner periphery they are provided with internal toothing (10) capable of meshing with a pinion (11) which, by means of an adjusting spindle (14) connected for co-rotation therewith, is axially slidable into the planes of the individual type rings (6). By means of the pinion (11) the type rings (6) can be rotated relative to one another on the support (3) to bring selected printing types (9) into a predetermined position of adjustment. In order to avoid that during adjustment of a type ring (6) the adjacent type rings (6) are carried along a locking member (16, 17) is provided on the adjusting spindle (14), on either side of the pinion (11), for rotation relative to the adjusting spindle (14), and is secured against - axial shifting. The locking members (16, 17) are in positive engagement with the type rings (6) adjacent the type ring (6) whose inner toothing (10) is meshing with the pinion (11). The locking members (16, 17) are in positive engagement with the support (3).

摘要： A printing mechanism, particularly for a counter device which records distances, is formed with a pair of sets of print wheels with a housing defining a slot through which a voucher may be passed to have imprinted thereon information contained on the print wheels. Platens are arranged to press the voucher against the print wheels and platen carriers which are rotatably mounted have the platens eccentrically mounted thereon. Overcenter springs engage the platen carriers, and after the carriers have been rotated through a predetermined angle, the overcenter springs drive the carriers through a further angle of rotation during which the platens are pressed against the print wheels during the printing process. The angle through which the platen carrier is initially rotated to load the overcenter spring is less than the angle through which the platen carrier is driven by the loaded overcenter spring.

摘要： A machine for printing identical characters on a series of connected labels including a stack of type wheels each having a series of different bossed print characters on its periphery. A rotatable disk carries an ink transfer roll and a pressure roll. The ink transfer roll rolls across aligned print faces of the type wheels, and the pressure roll then forces a label of the connected series of labels into printing contact with the print faces as the disk rotates. The connected labels are fed one at a time into registry with the aligned print faces of the type wheels for printing the labels one after the other. A manually operated linkage is connected with each of the type wheels for adjusting each type wheel with respect to the other type wheels so as to change the character printed by each of the wheels at will, and the wheels are held against relative rotation during a single run of the connected labels.

摘要： A direct image printing machine is provided especially adapted for composing a line of print on paper tape. The machine prints images from raised characters and coated transfer paper, such as carbon coated paper, onto a printable paper strip when these elements are stacked together and commonly compressed between a linearly closing anvil and piston. The machine may be used with a wide range of type style and sizes of raised characters. A control system regulates the force of the thrust during the printing process to guard against pressure overload on characters of a particular type or size. One of a series of flat platens of differing thicknesses is selectively used between the anvil and piston to control interference, the thickness of a selected platen member being correlated with the surface image area of a selected raised character during a printing operation is maintained below a predetermined maximum. Additionally, the printing machine is designed to accept only a master or printing disc having raised characters of an area to be used with a selected platen member and to reject other printing discs. The printing disc preferably is formed from a deformable, resilient, elastic, synthetic polymeric resin having raised characters of different areas.
