摘要： A filtration system is configured to provide clean fuel to a running combustion engine. The filtration system may be configured to be connected to a main fuel tank for storing contaminated fuel, and to be connected to a fuel supply of a combustion engine. A filtration circuit may include at least one filter, a first auxiliary fuel tank for containing fuel, and a first fuel pump configured to pump the fuel from the first auxiliary fuel tank through the filtration circuit back to the first auxiliary fuel tank. A second auxiliary fuel tank may be connectable to said first auxiliary fuel tank for receiving fuel from the first auxiliary fuel tank via a transfer valve. A control unit may be configured to control the transfer valve such that the first auxiliary tank is fluidly connected to the second auxiliary fuel tank only if fuel of a desired contamination level is contained in the first auxiliary tank.

The filter element may further include a filter medium associated with the tubular element, and an end cap associated with the end portion of the tubular member and the filter medium. The end cap may include a plate transverse to the longitudinal axis of the tubular member, and a sealing wall coupled to the plate and extending transverse to the plate. The sealing wall may include a seal portion configured to be compressed between a filter canister and a portion of a filter base to provide a seal between the filter canister and the portion of the filter base.

The water can be fed into a collection chamber (24) of the fuel filter (10) via a first conduit (26), which extends from the filter element (12) to the collection chamber (24). Provided in the first conduit (26) is a branching off of a second conduit (32), which enables fluid discharge from the first conduit (26). Preferably, a throttle (34) and in particular a press-fit throttle is provided in the second conduit (32), in order to regulate the amount of outflow. The second conduit (32) preferably branches off from the first conduit (26) at substantially a 90 degree angle to the first conduit (26), so that fluid flowing in the first conduit (26) primarily flows past the second conduit (32) and reaches the collection chamber (24).

The first sub-chamber is at least partially bounded by a wall and has extending from it a water input guide configured and arranged to direct water toward a portion of the wall of the first sub-chamber. The second sub-chamber is open to a conduit configured for the carriage of water from the second sub-chamber to an output port of the water collection tank. In use a filter disposed in the second sub-chamber preferentially filters water from the first sub-chamber such filtered water being deflected by the wall of the second sub-chamber to fall into the water collection chamber while the debris laden waste water falls out the lower part of the filter into the conduit.
