    • The method provides an electromagnetic assembly in the form of a magnet pole or of a stator packet of an extended stator linear motor for a magnetic levitation train. The assembly includes a sheet stack (8) made of ferromagnetic material and at least one additional component (12,13,14). The sheet stack (8) is assembled from raw magnetic steel sheets and is positioned in a shaping tool. Thereafter by feeding a hardenable mixture into the tool and hardening or hardening out the mixture, the sheets are surrounded with the mixture and connected to each other in a single working step to form the finished sheet stack. In the same working step, the sheet stack (8) is connected to the additional component (12,13,14) and the assembly as a whole is provided with its final electrical, magnetic, mechanical and/or geometric properties.

    • Insulating slot liners for insertion into stator core winding slots are formed from a narrow-width reel of insulating material. The width of the material is determined by the inner circumferential surface of the winding slot that must be insulated, instead of being based on the axial length of the stator core as has been the practice in the past. As a result, slot liners may be easily produced for stator cores of different axial lengths by simply adjusting the length of material cut from the reel. Preferably, the cutting mechanism used to cut the length of material is adapted to form a pair of opposed cuffs when the material is cut. An insulator blank formed in this manner is pushed into a die, thereby forming a U-shaped slot liner. A transfer mechanism functions to move the slot liner into a respective winding slot. The slot liner preferably passes through a reduced diameter guideway defined in a guide element as it is moved into the winding slot. The guide element is adapted to be retracted from its operative position after insertion of the slot liner so that the stator core can be indexed to the next slot position.

    • In order to simplify the adjustment of an axial play of a rotor shaft (2.4) between the rotor shaft (2.4) and a stator (1) of a motor with the purpose of reducing the component expenditure and the assembly expenditure of the motor, a first clamp holder (3) and a second clamp holder (4) exert pressure on both sides of a plain bearing (5). In a first step, a rotor (2) of the motor is positioned relative to a housing (1.3) of the motor. A bearing receiver (1.1) is then fixed relative to the housing (1.3) of the motor by inserting, at an axially inner end of the bearing receiver (1.1), the second clamp holder (4); by moving the second clamp holder (4) to a second operating end position; and by fixing the second claim holder (4) at the second operating end position. Next, at an axially outer end of the bearing receiver (1.1), the plain bearing (5) and the first clamp holder (3) are axially inserted into the bearing receiver (1.1). The first clamp holder (3) is moved to and fixed at a first operating end position to adjust a pre-defined axial play of the rotor shaft (2.4). The spring stiffness of the first clamp holder (3) is higher than the spring stiffness of the second clamp holder (4). In addition, the first clamp holder (3) contacts one axial face side of the plain bearing (5), whereas the second clamp holder (4) contacts the other axial face side of the plain bearing (5) in order to exert an elastic pressure against the plain bearing (5) and against the first clamp holder (3).

    • An electrical appliance which operates at multiple speeds includes a motor construction having a stator and a rotor which rotates within the stator. The stator includes a plurality of magnetic flux inducing wires coiled on different poles of the stator. The stator and the rotor are contained within a motor housing with the appliance further including a switch housing mounted directly to the motor housing. The flux inducing wires have wire ends which extend out of the motor housing and into the switch housing which includes receptors to receive the ends of the flux inducing wires and which also receive electrical contact members which secure and electrically connect with the ends of the flux inducing wires within the receptors of the switch housing.
