    • A stator for use in a two rotor single stator type electric motor comprises a stator core including a plurality of stator teeth that are circumferentially arranged around a common axis leaving a plurality of identical spaces each being defined between adjacent two of the stator teeth. Each stator tooth includes a plurality of flat magnetic steel plates that are aligned along the common axis. A plurality of coils are put around the stator teeth respectively. Bolts extend through identical spaces of the stator core for combining the flat magnetic steel plates to have a fixed structure of the stator core. A molded plastic fills the identical spaces of the stator core. A plurality of elongate plate bars extend in the identical spaces through the molded plastic respectively. Each elongate plate bar extends in parallel with the common axis and is constructed of a magnetic material that has an electric resistance higher than the bolts.

    • Encapsulation of a permanent magnet rotor is achieved by applying a glass roving material to spaces in the rotor structure, applying a veil cloth around the outer surface of the rotor, mounting a vacuum bag with vacuum ports around the outer surface of the rotor, removing vent plugs from the end walls of the rotor and screws from an inner ring of the rotor and replacing them with vacuum ports and applying a vacuum to the vacuum ports. After air has been removed from the rotor, an encapsulating resin is applied to some of the ports to introduce resin into the interior of the rotor. After curing of the resin the vacuum bag is removed and the outer surface of the rotor is machined to the desired outer dimension of the rotor.

    • An electric motor having an armature which includes a coating of thermally conductive plastic applied in a conventional injection molding process. The armature also includes a fan which is integrally formed from the thermally conductive plastic applied to the armature. This completely eliminates the need to apply one or more coatings of a trickle resin to the armature. It also eliminates the need to separately form and secure a fan by a suitable adhesive to the armature, which together significantly simplifies the manufacturing and cost of the armature. The plastic coating also better fills the spaces between the magnet wires, thus promoting even more efficient cooling and better holding of the magnet wires stationary relative to one another. The thermally conductive plastic coating may be mixed with other suitable materials to provide a density approximately equal to the magnet wires. This eliminates the need to balance the armature after the injection molding step.
