摘要： A switch includes a switching mechanism, an operating mechanism with a key which normally causes the switching mechanism to be in a switched-off condition when it is pulled out and to be displaced against a biasing force to be in a switched-on condition when the key is inserted, and a locking mechanism for maintaining the switching mechanism locked in the switched-on condition and releasing it from the locked condition if a load greater than a specified magnitude is applied to the key while the switching mechanism is locked such that the switching mechanism is set back in the switched-off condition. The switching mechanism may be contained in a head case attached to a main case containing the operating mechanism. The main case also includes a forcing mechanism which tends to force the switching mechanism in the switched-off condition. Normally when the head case is attached to the main case, the forcing mechanism is released from its forcing function but when the head case is removed from the main case, the forcing mechanism functions to displace the switching mechanism into the switched-off condition.

摘要： The present invention is provided with a contact switching mechanism having a movable contact member that is bent into a U shape, allowed to press and contact a fixed contact member side, and supported so as to freely tilt and move thereon. In this mechanism, a switching operation is carried out between contacts by reversing the movable contact member in a see-saw manner, with a tilt-movement fulcrum portion of the movable contact member being always in contact with the contact portion of the common fixed contact member. The movable contact member is allowed to have a spring function conformed to elastically shift in response to a switching operation in addition to a contact function that is inherent to the movable contact member so that it is possible to provide a switch having high reliability, such as a push-button switch and a rotary-lever switch, which can cut costs by reducing the number of parts, and ensure a superior contacting property.

摘要： A trigger assembly for an electric power tool including a motor comprises a base for fixing within the power tool and a trigger supported by the base for inward and outward movement. A mechanical switch in the base switches on and off the motor. An operating circuitry including a solid-state device in the base controls the motor when the switch is closed. A slider guided within the base for movement by the trigger operates the switch and the operating circuitry. The switch has a fixed contact, a moving contact pivotable into contact with and out of contact from the fixed contact, and a spring biassing the moving contact towards the closed position. The moving contact has a first end for contacting the fixed contact and a second end for engagement by the slider to cause pivoting of the moving contact to the open position. Two such switches are used as main and bypass switches, with their moving contacts supported by a common conductive support together forming a switch module to facilitate installation.
