    • An object of the present invention is to obtain an acceleration sensor that can reliably detect acceleration when inclination of an inclining member is within a fixed range, and that can reduce unnecessary movement of relevant members when inclination of the inclining member is outside of the range, so that space efficiency in an inner portion is high. In the present invention, a gear of a fixed gear fixed at a seat cushion is formed in only a portion in the circumferential direction, and a portion at which the gear is not formed is a sliding surface. One of teeth among a plurality of teeth of a pinion of a revolving gear is short, to form a notched tooth portion. In a state in which the forward-collapsed angle of a seatback exceeds a predetermined angle, the notched tooth portion faces the sliding surface and the revolving gear body no longer rotates. At this time, since a bracket at which a sensor ball is mounted also does not rotate, the bracket is held at a fixed position relative to a frame plate. Accordingly, a space formed in frame plates in consideration of rotation of the bracket does not need to be large, and space efficiency is high.

    • An accelerometer device which can be mounted on a substrate, e.g., a circuit board enclosed in a medical device, includes an accelerometer sensing element having an axis of sensitivity and further includes first and second multilayer end caps. The substrate generally defines a mounting plane. The accelerometer sensing element includes a device body having a longitudinal axis extending between generally parallel first and second ends thereof and further includes a principal surface extending between the first and second ends of the device body parallel to the longitudinal axis. The axis of sensitivity of the sensing element is generally perpendicular to a plane defined by the principal surface. Further, the accelerometer sensing element includes conductive pad regions on each of the first and second ends of the device body. Each of the first and second multilayer end caps includes conductive elements on one side thereof and further includes conductive traces electrically connected to the conductive elements thereof. Each of the conductive traces of the first and second multilayer end caps terminate at a surface mount contact region along at least one edge thereof. The first and second multilayer end caps are attached to the first and second ends of the device body such that, when the accelerometer device is mounted on a substrate, the axis of sensitivity of the accelerometer sensing element is perpendicular to the mounting plane defined thereby.

    • An inertia detecting transducer having a reliable detection element. The element is kept to be free from deposition of gas and organic substance generated from resin adhesive. A first case of the transducer has an opening and a circuit component mounted thereon, and is provided with an external electrode and a first connection electrode. A second case includes a detection element mounted inside thereof, and an opening of the case is sealed with a sealing plate. The second case is further provided with a second connection electrode. The second case is attached to the first case so that the former covers the opening of the latter. The second connection electrode and the first connection electrode are electrically coupled. In the above-described configuration of the present invention, if an inertia detecting transducer gets a partial damage, either one of the detection element and the circuit component remaining intact can be re-utilzed.

    • The present invention is a semiconductor sensor having a semiconductor sensor chip for detecting a physical value applied in a direction perpendicular to the chip surface; and a package for incorporating the semiconductor sensor chip. The main surface for mounting the semiconductor sensor chip is formed at a predetermined angle with respect to the surface of a printed circuit board for mounting the package. The main surface is provided with a plurality of terminals along two opposite sides for connecting with input/output terminals of the semiconductor sensor chip. A bottom surface, perpendicular to the main surface, is provided with a plurality of pins formed along the two sides parallel to the main surface, so that the plurality of pins are inserted into mounting holes formed in the printed circuit board. The plurality of terminals and the plurality of pins are electrically connected, and input/output terminals of the semiconductor sensor chip mounted on the main surface are electrically connected with the plurality of terminals of the package.
