    • A pot burner has a circularly cylindrical combustion space 10 with openings 60, 62, 64 in its wall for the supply of combustion air and with an inlet in its floor 32 for the liquid fuel. Concentrically in the combustion space 10 there is placed a first cage 28 with a smaller diameter and a second cage 42 with a larger diameter than the circular outlet 18 for the combustion gases. The first cage is shut off at the top by an upper cover wall 26 whereas the second cage 42 is shut off at the top by an annular outer part of the cover wall at a lower level. The second cage 42 is divided into an upper annular chamber 36 and a lower annular chamber 38 by a perforated ring 46. The floor 14 forming the bottom of the combustion space 10 is covered over by a shield 82 to prevent the floor 14 from being cooled by incoming cold air for combustion.

The burner system is particularly characterized in that at least one turbulence generating member, a turbulator (10), for example in the form of a central piece (11) or the like with blades, wings (12) or the like substantially radially projecting therefrom is located substantially perpendicularly to the longitudinal, vertical axis of the combustion space and substantially in parallel with said bottom (3), thereby dividing the combustion space into a lower space (13) and an upper space (14), and whereby an intimate mixing of air and fuel vapour is achieved at the passage past the turbulator (10).     • A heater includes a first housing which forms a fuel reservoir and a base support to maintain the heater in an upright position. A first elongated hollow or tubular member is secured to the top of the first housing with its lower end communicating with the interior of said first housing and extends upwardly therefrom. A second housing is mounted on top of the first housing and is provided with opening or port means to communicate the top of the first housing with the second housing. Port means in the second housing also communicates the second housing with the first elongated tubular member. A second elongated, hollow or tubular member is mounted on the second housing and extends upwardly therefrom. Its lower end communicates with the top of the second housing for communicating air to the second housing. Valve means are provided in each the first and second elongated hollow members for selectively controlling communication therethrough.

    • A vaporizer and burner unit for an oil or kerosene space heater comprises three elongated, vertically stacked fuel mixture flow chambers A, B and C respectively defined between a lower U-shaped frame member 19b and the sloping bottom wall 26 of a flanged, upper U-shaped frame member 19a nested on the lower member, between the wall 26 and an inverted V-shaped pressure plate 27 having a plurality of fuel mixture feed holes 28 therein, and between the plate 27 and a burner plate 30 having a plurality of flame slits 31 therein. Fuel is fed into one end of the chamber A onto a heated vaporizer block 21, and combustion air blown in through a side window 24 adjacent the block and through a concentric gap 25 around the fuel supply line 12 mixes with the vaporized fuel and flows down chamber A and into chamber B through an end opening 29. The mixture then disperses through the holes 28 into chamber C and through the flame slits 31 to a spark igniter 62. Secondary combustion air is blown up through holes 32 in the upper frame member flanges and funneled into the flames by converging guide plates 33 mounted on the flanges. The zig-zag flow chamber arrangement implements thorough fuel-air mixture and preheating, and the holes 28 and 32 are staggered with respect to the slits 31 to promote uniform and complete combustion.
