摘要： A sheet light source is described that has a width in a front-to-back “x” direction, a length in a left-to-right “y” direction, and a height in a bottom-to-top “z” direction. The sheet light source includes a bottom conductive surface, a laser diode, a transparent conductive sheet, and an adhesive material portion. The laser diode is mounted on the conductive surface in the “z” direction. The transparent conductive sheet is laminated onto the laser diode and the conductive surface in the “z” direction. The adhesive material portion is located between the conductive sheet and the conductive surface, and binds the transparent conductive sheet to the laser diode and the conductive surface. The adhesive material portion further enables photons, emitted substantially in the “x” direction from the laser diode, to propagate therein to an edge and be output.

摘要： An LED lighting element having an H-shaped housing. The housing, which may be an extruded housing, has a first section and a second section which is separated from the first section by a cross bar. A back plate is positioned opposite of the crossbar and is removably secured to the first section. A heat sink is located within the housing while a microcontroller and LED drive/control technology and integrated power supply contacts the heat sink and is attached to the back plate. An LED PC board that is electrically connected to the microcontroller and LED drive/control technology and integrated power supply is positioned in the second section and is attached to the housing. An end cap for the housing along with a method for constructing the lighting element are also disclosed.

A first photoluminescent structure is disposed on the member and configured to luminesce in response to excitation by the light source. In some embodiments, the light source may implement a thin design, thereby helping to fit the light source into small package spaces of the vehicle where traditional light sources may not be practicable.

An interior illuminator has: cold cathode tubes 5, 6; a cold cathode tube driving circuit for driving the cold cathode tubes 5, 6; manipulation switches 12, 13, 14 and 15 for turning on and off the cold cathode tubes; and a housing 2 that houses the cold cathode tube driving circuit and holds the cold cathode tubes and the manipulation switches. The housing 2is attached in a position on a longitudinal center line of the automobile and behind the driver's seat, and the cold cathode tubes 5, 6 each have an illumination range set to be lower than the lower edge of a window glass behind the driver's seat.

To simplify the design of the apparatus, a second light-emitting device is mounted to a visible side of the recess-mounting frame. The second light-emitting device at least partially surrounds the first light-emitting device and is fitted to the recess-mounting frame, so that the light-emitting direction of the second light-emitting device is invariable.
