摘要： In embodiments, systems and methods include using a modular robotic inspection system to inspect a tubular of a vehicle or building. The modular robotic inspection system comprises a first modular robot and a second modular robot. Both the first modular robot and the second modular robot comprise a base, a plurality of wheels disposed around the base, wherein each of the plurality of wheels is coupled to the base through a set of extendable arms, wherein each one of the plurality of wheels is disposed at a distal end of one of the set of extendable arms, and a plurality of centralizing rollers disposed around the base, wherein each one of the plurality of centralizing rollers is disposed at a proximal end of one of the set of extendable arms. The first modular robot further comprises a motor operable to actuate the plurality of wheels of the first modular robot.

摘要： A cleaning pig assembly is provided for use on a tubular drag conveyor. The assembly is quickly and easily mounted anywhere along the cable, chain, or rope via slots in the assembly components. The components include a puck, a plate, a drag disc, and a cleaning member or tool sandwiched between the puck and the plate. The drag disc provides interference fit on the cable, chain, or rope holding the assembly on the cable, chain, or rope and prevents sliding of the assembly along the cable, chain, or rope during use. The cleaning assembly is installed without the use of tools or clamps. Multiple interchangeable cleaning members are provided depending on cleaning needs.

摘要： A system and method for measuring an inside diameter of a pipe to determine if it exceeds a predetermined value using a plurality of fingers operatively connected to a spring. When in a fully extended position, the distance between opposite fingers is the predetermined value. The fingers are pivotable between a starting position, through the fully extended position, and to a failing position. In the starting position, an outer end of each finger engages an inside surface of the pipe to compress the spring. If the diameter exceeds the predetermined value as the system moves through the pipe, the pipe inside surface will no longer engage the fingers, which releases the spring causing the fingers to pivot to the failing position, where they remain until the system is removed from the pipe and manually reset.

摘要： A caliper pig for detecting geometrical deformation of a pipeline is disclosed. The caliper pig includes a body and a first sensor arm assembly. The first sensor arm assembly includes a primary caliper sensor ring adapted to be mounted on the body. Further, the first sensor arm assembly includes a plurality of sensor arms adapted circumferentially distributed on the primary caliper sensor ring. Each of the plurality of sensor arms includes a sensing arm adapted to be in contact with an internal surface of the pipeline and a pair of magnets adapted to rotate along the sensing arm. Each of the plurality of sensor arms includes a sensing unit configured to detect a change in magnetic field based on the movement of the sensing arm. The sensing unit is configured to generate an output indicative of an angle of deflection of the sensing arm while traversing on the internal surface of the pipeline.

摘要： A pipeline pigging element (10) that changes its size in an axial and a radial direction as a function of applied pipeline pressure. The pigging element includes at least two circumferential zones (13, 15) having different section modulus than one another, each of the zones changing at different rates from one another between an uninflated and an inflated state at the applied pipeline pressure. The pigging element reacts to changes in pipe geometry, having a first length and a first diameter at a first applied pipeline pressure and a second length and a second diameter different than the first at a second applied pipeline pressure. As the pigging element wears, it becomes easier to inflate at the applied pressure and sealing contact with the pipe wall remains substantially unaffected. No onboard pumps or fluid circuits are required to inflate the pigging element.

摘要： Disclosed herein is a tool for holding a spray painting instrument, such as a painting gun for painting an internal surface of a pipe. In particular, the inventive tool is ideal for painting the interior of curves and angles in a pipe and is capable of moving through and uniformly painting up to 90 degree angles of pipes or hollow tubes. The tool has a hollow central tube for carrying a spray-painting gun and at least two projections extending outwardly from an outer surface of the hollow tube. A retracting arm assembly is provided on each projection. Each retracting arm assembly includes first and second retracting arms and a corresponding force exertion mechanism. In operation, when the tool is inserted inside the pipe, each retracting arm touches the internal surface of the pipe due to an outward force exerted thereon. The tool is movable inside the pipe and adjusts automatically to different pipe diameters. The tool can be used manually or in an automated fashion to push and pull the paint gun and paint the interior of a pipe.

摘要： A self-propelled device for locomotion through a lumen, comprising a set of serially arranged inflatable chambers, adjacent chambers being fluidly connected, and a fluid source attached to one end of the set, such that the chambers inflate sequentially. The chambers are constructed of an elastic material and have a wall thickness and dimensions such that they have a characteristic with a non-monotonous relationship between the inflation pressure within the chamber and the chamber's inflated size. The characteristic is such that after an initial inflation pressure peak, the non-monotonous relationship adopts a negative slope, such that the volume of the chamber increases more rapidly than the volume of fluid flowing into it, and the inflation pressure of the chamber falls. This effect causes the chamber to inflate and anchor rapidly, while essentially slowing down the inflation of the succeeding chamber until inflation of the first is complete.
