    • Disclosed is a simple, easy and efficient metal roof curb system and method for attachment which includes a generally rectangular curb assembly, the edges of which have inwardly facing upper and lower flanges to facilitate secure and waterproof attachment to the roof panels. One end of the curb assembly is designed for attachment at the low or downwardly facing side of the roof, and the opposite end is designed to be attached to the high or upwardly facing side of the roof. The low end of the assembly includes a set of recesses designed for alignment with and attachment to the ribs of the metal roof. The high end includes no such recesses, but is instead designed for direct attachment to the flattened roof panels, the ribs of which are cut and plugged. A pre-attached Z-shaped water diverter is included on the high side, the assembly calling for a water diverting cricket to be installed on the high side in the field. Bull nose covers lined with waterproof material are installed to cover plugs on the high side ribs where they have been cut.

    • A skylight for installation on a roof of a building is provided. The skylight includes a frame that has a plurality of elements and defines an interior opening. A mounting bracket with a first and second leg is included. The first leg of the mounting bracket is connected to one of the elements of the frame, and the second leg may have a guide structure with at least one opening that extends at an angle with respect to the second leg. The guide structure may be used for securing the mounting bracket and skylight to the roofing structure. The skylight may be provided with a flashing profile that has a rigid section attached to one of the elements of the frame and a flexible section attached to the rigid section. The rigid and flexible sections may extend along the longitudinal lengths of two different elements of the frame. The skylight may be provided with both the mounting bracket and the rigid and flexible flashing sections as discussed above in accordance with various exemplary embodiments of the present invention.

    • To overcome the difficulties of properly spacing the lower terminal edge of siding above a roof with flashing therebetween, an outwardly projecting elongated guide is formed in the elongated vertical portion of the siding at the predetermined level above the elongated horizontal portion of the flashing. This allows the installer to use the guide to properly cut the siding as well as installing the same the correct distance above the roof. If an attempt is made to install siding to close to the roof, the same will not lie flat against the flashing so that an obvious incorrect installation is indicated.

    • A water diverter that diverts water flow from under siding or external fascia on a building to the environment in regions adjacent a portal, such as a window, door or vent. The water diverter includes a first wall, a base joined with the first wall, and an outer wall joined with the base. In an upper portion the first wall, base and outer wall form a collector that collects water flowing along a building wall or the portal structure. In a lower region, the first wall, base and outer wall cooperate to define the channel. The base may be angled or curved outwardly from the building wall to divert water away from the building wall and into the channel. Preferably, the upper portion is disposed under siding, and the lower portion is disposed on the exterior of the siding so that water travels from under the siding to the environment, downwardly along the portal structure.
