    • A masonry unit for constructing built structures includes a rectangular shaped base having a front edge and a rear edge. The front edge and the rear edge each include a recess formed therein configured for disposal of a vertically disposed reinforcing material. A pair of spaced apart sidewalls extends perpendicularly from the base and along a length of the base. The sidewalls and the base together define a cavity configured for disposal of a fill material. A pair of spaced apart bridges is supported on the base configured for disposal of lengths of a horizontally disposed reinforcing material. The bridges extend transversely between the sidewalls and each have a height less than a height of the sidewalls. The base defines a hole therethrough disposed adjacent one bridge of the pair of spaced apart bridges.

    • A foam panel concrete form is provided for using concrete reinforcement rods which extend on each side of a joint in the foam panel concrete form and into complementary shaped openings in ties which hold two adjacent panels in a spaced and parallel relationship. The concrete reinforcement rod can pass into the openings in adjacent ties with little resistance in a first rotary position of the concrete reinforcement rod. When the concrete reinforcement rod is rotated to a second rotational position within the openings the reinforcement rod is in a tight frictional fit in the openings for helping to hold adjacent ties and the adjacent foam panels in a fixed relationship with respect to each other during a time when concrete is poured between the foam panels, thereby also serving to re-enforce the concrete after the concrete has cured.

    • An apparatus for facilitating the installation of a flowable insulation in a wall or ceiling cavity comprises a rigid rectangular frame. A pair of transverse runners releasably receives an apertured slide panel and a pair of slide screen panels. When all three panels are received by the runners, they extend between the sides of the frame. A metal screen or wire mesh covers the frame other than at the runners. The apertured panel may be repositioned by removing one of the panels and sliding the other two to a different position then reinserting the removed panel. The frame may be pressed against a wall cavity and the apertured panel positioned so that it is not obstructed. An insulation hose may then inserted through the aperture in the apertured panel and insulation blown into the cavity; subsequently the apparatus may be removed. In another embodiment a pair of adjustable legs extend from the bottom of the frame and a row of teeth extends along the top of the frame so that the frame may be pressed against the top of the wall cavity. In a further embodiment the adjustable legs may be pivotally joined medially along the sides of the frame and used to support the frame against ceiling joints so that insulation may be blown into the ceiling cavity between these joints.

    • The present invention describes a unique wall construction and spacer for use by unskilled labor in such construction. Preferably, the wall comprises a plurality of blocks arranged in layers one above the other, each of the blocks having an exterior face, an interior face, a top and a bottom, the top and bottom of each block having a wedge-shaped longitudinal groove therein aligned with the grooves of adjacent blocks. The spacer comprises a base supported against the interior faces of adjacent blocks, and first and second arms extending transversely from the base and supported against the tops of said adjacent blocks. Each arm includes at its distal or medial end upper and lower wedge-shaped tabs, the lower tab for extending downwardly into the groove or opening of a block underlying the arm and the upper tab for extending upwardly into the groove or opening of the block overlying the arm.

    • The present invention describes a unique wall construction and spacer for use by unskilled labor in such construction. Preferably, the wall comprises a plurality of blocks arranged in layers one above the other, each of the blocks having an exterior face, an interior face, a top and a bottom, the top and bottom of each block having a longitudinal groove therein aligned with the grooves of adjacent blocks. The spacer comprises a base supported against the interior faces of adjacent blocks, and first and second arms extending transversely from the base and supported against the tops of said adjacent blocks. The arms are preferably cut-out portions of the base.
