摘要： This invention relates to a process of dewaxing a hydrocarbon oil involving the steps of separating and precipitating the wax component of the hydrocarbon oil. This process is facilitated by incorporating into the oil a linear polymer of carbon monoxide with one or more olefins comprising .alpha.-olefins with at least 10 carbon atoms per molecule (C.sub.10+ .alpha.-olefins) wherein in this polymer monomer units of carbon monoxide and olefins are present in a substantially alternating arrangement. Optionally, the process may also involve the use of a polymer of one or more olefinically unsaturated compound comprising of alkyl acrylates or alkyl methacrylates with at least 8 carbon atoms in the alkyl group (C.sub.8+ alkyl esters). The process may be practiced using the single-stage or multi-stage dilution method.

摘要： Lubricants of improved characteristics are produced by carrying out a solvent extraction to remove aromatic components after solvent or catalytic dewaxing. Aromatic extraction solvents such as phenol, furfural or N-methyl pyrrolidone may be used. The process is particularly useful with wax-derived lubricants produced by the hydroisomerization of a petroleum wax which has then been dewaxed.

摘要： A method of dehydrating a solvent originating from a hydrocarbon dewaxing operation, wherein a moist composite organic solvent, for example a moist MEK/toluene mixture is dehydrated in a first distillation zone, the resulting first distillate is contacted with water to form two phases one of which, rich in organic solvent, is returned as a reflux to the first distillation zone whereas the other phase rich in water is distilled in a second distillation zone, and the head product and one portion of the bottom product of the second distillation zone are returned to the zone of contact between the first distillate and water, the invention being applicable to the dewaxing of lubricating oils.

It has been unexpectedly discovered that by operating with a ketone solvent mixture that is beyond the miscibility limit by a small amount, the rate of solvent dewaxing can be substantially increased. Additionally, the difference between the filtration temperature during solvent dewaxing and the pour point of the resulting dewaxed product is unexpectedly reduced. The dewaxing solvent beyond the miscibility limit can correspond to, for example, a solvent mixture where the weight percent of methyl ethyl ketone is beyond the miscibility limit by 0.1 vol % to 5.0 vol %.

摘要： Activated carbon is prepared specially by activating carbonaceous material in a circumstance comprising water vapor less than 15% on volume basis and providing thus treated activated carbon carries alkaline or alkaline earth metal sulfide in it. Thus prepared activated carbon or that carrying these compound provides for method of eliminating mercury and its compounds from liquid hydrocarbons substantially completely contained at a slight amount in it. Liquid hydrocarbons containing mercury or sulfur will harm catalysts which are often applied during process for such intermediates of petroleum products and petrochemical products. Thus the present method is advantageous to processing of such oil intermediates.

摘要： A process for solvent dewaxing petroleum feedstock to separate crystallized wax from lubricant oil by filtration of a wax/oil/solvent mixture. The feedstock is sequentially cooled and mixed with cold polar solvent to form a wax crystal phase and oil-solvent phase, and-the oil-solvent filtrate stream is contacted with solvent permeable selective membrane at low temperature to recover an internal circulating permeate solvent stream and an oil-rich retentate stream containing dewaxed oil product and residual solvent. Improved operation is achieved by splitting the internal circulating solvent stream into a multiple cold solvent recycle streams and injecting a plurality of the cold solvent recycle streams into the waxy petroleum feedstock during sequential cooling and mixing. By initially injecting a cold recycle solvent stream in to the waxy petroleum feedstock at a small temperature differential near the wax crystallization temperature, shock cooling and excess small wax crystal formation is avoided.
