Variation in the current density of the cathode ray excitation produces emission varying from green to blue. The method of making the phosphor and a cathode ray tube device employing the phosphor is also disclosed.

When at least one red-emitting phosphor selected from europium-activated yttrium oxysulfide, europium-activated yttrium oxide and europium-activated yttrium vanadate is incorporated into the above white-emitting phosphor, the resulting composite can cover a more wide white region for black and white television.

摘要： The present invention has for its object to eliminate the expense of the installation and maintenance of a continuous lighting system for roadways, staircases, doorways and the like by using the light remanence obtained from a photo-luminescent material covering the obstacles or structures to be lighted. The invention provides a material having permanent physical, mechanical and chemical properties which cannot be changed by rubbing or wear; in the textile field, the material may constitute the fabric fibres or a standard fabric can be coated with the material. The material products are photo-luminsecent in their mass and are of the type comprising a synthetic binding agent having a spectral response from the U.V. to close to the I.R., crystalline fillers or charges with a high coefficient of light transmission over the same spectral field and one or more phosphorescent substances, at least one substance absorbing energy from low wavelengths of light and re-emitting this energy at the level of the absorption spectrum of one of the phosphorescent substances, and at least one fluorescent substance selected so as to give a remanent color which can be different from that of the phosphorescent substance.

摘要： Improved zinc silicate phosphor particles are made by using silicic acid particles in the range from 0.7 to 10 micrometers coated with Mn.sub.2 O.sub.3 .multidot.xH.sub.2 O and then a layer of ZnO particles about an order of magnitude smaller which are fired to form the phosphors. The particle size is held within the range preferred and preferably is even narrower. The particles are not milled or mechanically crushed. Instead, the ZnO powder prevents agglomeration during firing. Baths are provided for formation of the particles prior to firing. Brightness and persistance are improved over conventional phosphors.

摘要： Cathode ray phosphor compositions that are resistant to photodeposition slurries consist essentially of discrete particles of a phosphor material having a core of silver-activated zinc sulfide and a coating over a substantial amount of the external surfaces of a composition represented by the formula, Mg.sub.2 P.sub.2 O.sub.7 :Al.sub.4 (P.sub.2 O.sub.7).sub.3 . xSiO.sub.2 wherein the coating is at a sufficient level on the surfaces to provide a PO.sub.4 content of the composition of from about 0.05% to about 0.2% by weight and the SiO.sub.2 content sufficient to impart flowability. The coating composition is formed by a slurry process that enables a uniform and adherent coating to be deposited on the surfaces of the particles of silver-activated zinc sulfide.

摘要： A process for producing a thin fluorescent film for electroluminescence includes the steps of heating a raw material, composed of a base material and an activator, within an enclosed type crucible so as to generate a mixed vapor, injecting the mixed vapor into a vacuum zone through means of an injection nozzle, projecting an electron beam into the injected mixed vapor so as to ionize the mixed vapor, accelerating the ionized mixed vapor by means of an electric field, and permitting the accelerated ionized mixed vapor to collide with a base plate so as to form a vapor-deposited film upon the base plate.
