摘要： A crosslinked polymer that is in the form of a Mannich polycondensation product including reacted units of a cyclic diaminoalkane, an aldehyde, and bisphenol-S or melamine. Also disclosed is a method for removing heavy metals from an aqueous solution by contacting the aqueous solution having an initial concentration of the heavy metal with the crosslinked polymer to form a mixture, and filtering the mixture to obtain an aqueous solution having a reduced concentration of the heavy metal compared to the initial concentration.

摘要： Compositions and methods for forming condensates and resin compositions are provided. In one embodiment, a condensate is formed from a reaction mixture including a triazine monomer, an arylhydroxy monomer, an aldehyde monomer and an acid catalyst having a pKa value of greater than 3.8. The condensates contain up to 28 wt. % of nitrogen and have a melt viscosity of 3,000 cps or less at 175° C. The condensates may have a solubility of at least 80 wt. % solids dissolved in an organic solvent for 120 hours or greater. Also disclosed are methods for the manufacture of the condensate as well as the condensate's use in fire-retardant epoxy resin compositions suitable for the manufacture of laminates for electronic applications. There is also disclosed a glycidylated triazine-arylhydroxy-aldehyde condensate of this invention.

摘要： The present invention relates to conjugated oligomers and polymers comprising aromatic thiophene cores. The conjugated materials are obtained by simple and efficient condensation of an aryl diamine and an aryl dialdehyde or a bifunctional aryl moiety comprising both an aldehyde and an amine. Condensation of the complementary moieties at temperatures ranging from ambient to refluxing temperatures in various solvents resulted in conjugated oligomers and polymers that can subsequently be cast into thin films. Oligomerization and polymerization can be done under mild conditions with removal of the resulting water bi-product responsible for shifting the equilibrium in favour of the conjugated products. The resulting conjugated compounds can be made conducting with dopants affording electrically conducting materials of either p-type or n-type conductors depending on the dopant selected.
