    • A melamine container is hot pressed and contains: melamine powder material, melamine-granule basic material, bakelite powders/granules and urea powders/granules. The melamine-granule basic material is condensed from the melamine powder material so as to form granules, and the melamine-granule basic material and the melamine powder material are mixed and hot pressed together so as to produce the melamine container. Furthermore, a melamine container is hot pressed and contains at least two melamine-granule basic materials, bakelite powders/granules and urea powders/granules; wherein the at least two melamine-granule basic materials are condensed from melamine powder material so as to form granules of at least two colors, and the at least two melamine-granule basic materials are mixed and hot pressed so as to produce a melamine container.

    • A crosslinking agent having reactive benzoxazine groups is provided. The crosslinking agent is an ungelled reaction product of aminoplast resin, a polyhydric aromatic compound, and at least one compound having active hydrogen groups reactive with aminoplast resin which is selected from at least one of: (i) compounds having the structure (I): 1 where X is aromatic; R1, R2, and R3 each independently represents H, (cyclo)alkyl having from 1 to 12 carbon atoms, aryl, alkaryl, aralkyl, or an active hydrogen-containing group; (ii) compounds having structure (II) or (III): 2 where Rnull and Rnull each independently represents an aromatic group or an alkyl group having 1 to 12 carbon atoms; and (iii) compounds different from (i) and (ii) and having a melting point of at least 80null C. Curable powder coating composition and multilayer composite coating compositions are also provided, as well as coated substrates.

    • Disclosed is a stabilized phenolic resin melamine dispersion comprising a liquid alkaline resole resin composition and solid melamine crystal dispersed throughout the resin composition. The liquid alkaline resole resin composition comprises the reaction product of combining formaldehyde and phenol at a formaldehyde to phenol mole ratio of about 0.5:1 to about 3.5:1 in the presence of a basic catalyst. The melamine crystal to phenol mole ratio ranges from about 0.01:1 to about 1:1. Moreover, the composition has a free formaldehyde content of at most about 0.5 weight percent. A method for making this dispersion is also disclosed.
