摘要： A shoulder strap repositioner for use in combination with a vehicle seat belt assembly having a lap belt and a diagonally-extending shoulder strap. The repositioner is generally “S” shaped in cross section and includes a generally flat panel-like intermediate portion, a generally flat panel-like upwardly extending rear tongue attached at the bottom by a lower connecting web to the intermediate portion so as to define a space for the lap belt, and a generally flat panel-like downwardly extending front tongue attached at the top by an upper connecting web to the intermediate portion so as to define a space for the shoulder strap. So that the repositioner releases itself in the event of a collision, either the downwardly extending front tongue has an upper weakened portion in the form of a notch extending laterally across near the upper connecting web, or the upwardly extending rear tongue has a lower weakened portion in the form of a notch extending laterally across near the lower connecting web, or both. To aid in retention of the repositioner to the lap belt, there is a fastening device at the upper end of the space for the lap belt. The fastening device includes an element on the upwardly extending rear tongue and a mating element on the intermediate portion.

The adjustment device includes a detachable sleeve which wraps around both the lap belt and the shoulder belt and angled slots in the sleeve that the shoulder belt portion exits through. During use, the shoulder belt portion enters one side of the sleeve in parallel with the lap belt portion then bends upwardly and exits the sleeve through the slots at an angle. The bent shoulder belt portion passing through the slots creates friction and prevents unwanted lateral displacement of the sleeve and shoulder belt portion.

摘要： The present device is a foldable cushion safety seat, manufactured from durable fabric and foam, that would be placed into the seat area of any standard shopping cart. The present invention would be secured to the cart by two VELCRO tabs and an incorporated handle bar cushion extending from the front of the seat when attached to the handle of the cart by a pair of VELCRO tabs also. The device would feature an adjustable nylon strap that, once a child would be placed in the seat, would secure the child in place. A short length of the nylon strap would be attached to the upper section of the safety seat. Once a child would be placed onto the lower section of the safety seat, the strap would then be tightened around the child's mid-section as needed. A replaceable and detachable child guard would protect the cushioned seat from stains. A pocket on the back portion of the seat would provide storage for a milk bottle, and two pockets on the opposite end of the back portion would provide miscellaneous storage for toys, coupons, or other small items.

摘要： A child safety seat for use in a vehicle has a seat body and a harness including a pair of shoulder straps which extend through respective slots in the seat back to a mechanism for adjusting the length of the shoulder straps. The height at which the shoulder straps project from the seat back can be varied by threading them through different slots. A pad is slidably mounted on each shoulder strap and has a cover formed of high friction material on the side thereof facing the child occupant's body. A tether strap has one end attached to each pad and projects through the same slot in the seat back as the corresponding shoulder strap for limiting movement of the corresponding chest pad along the shoulder strap to a predetermined limit distance away from the seat back. Such limit distance increases as the height at which the shoulder straps project from the seat back is increased.
