摘要： A friction pad (12) for inhibiting movement of a device (10) relative to an engagement surface (16) includes a pad body (18) and an adhesive material (232). The pad body (18) has a first body surface (20) and an opposed second body surface (22). The first body surface (20) is configured to be coupled to an outer surface (14) of the device (10). The second body surface (22) is configured to engage the engagement surface (16). The pad body (18) is formed at least in part from a body material (18A) including high-density polyethylene. The second body surface (22) of the pad body (18) has a static coefficient of friction of at least approximately 1.0. The second body surface (22) includes a plurality of spaced apart surface features (234), each of the plurality of surface features (234) having a feature height (358) of between approximately 0.15 millimeters and 1.00 millimeters. The adhesive material (232) is positioned on the first body surface (20) such that the first body surface (20) is configured to be fixedly coupled to the outer surface (14) of the device (10).

摘要： To provide a fluorinated copolymer composition having improved impact resistance and excellent moldability without impairing the excellent heat resistance and mechanical properties inherent to a thermoplastic heat-resistant resin. This fluorinated copolymer composition comprises a thermoplastic resin A being a melt-moldable heat-resistant thermoplastic resin and a fluorinated elastomer B being a fluorinated elastic copolymer, wherein the fluorinated elastomer B is dispersed in the thermoplastic resin A, the number average particle diameter of the fluorinated elastomer B is from 1 to 300 μm, the volume ratio of the thermoplastic resin A to the fluorinated elastomer B is from 97:3 to 55:45, and the fluorinated copolymer composition has a flexural modulus of from 1,000 to 3,700 MPa.

The friction material is selected from the group of asbestos free materials, while the metal plate is made of an aluminum alloy selected from the group consisting of aluminum alloys subjected to precipitation hardening (age-hardening alloys) and is made from the fine and/or traditional shearing of a metal sheet when the alloy is in a solubilized state. The alloy is not age hardened until a friction material baking step in order to gain the mechanical properties needed for its operation.

摘要： Provided is a friction material composition comprising: a binder; a fibrous base material; an abrasive material; an inorganic filler; and an organic filler, wherein the friction material composition further comprises: at least one selected from the group consisting of zinc, a cellulose fiber as the fibrous base materials and a flame retardant fiber as the fibrous base materials; an iron-based fiber as the fibrous base material in an specified amount; and an inorganic abrasive material having a Mohs hardness of 8 or higher and a particle size of 1 μm or larger as the abrasive material in an amount of 1 wt % or less. The present invention can provide a friction material composition which is less destructive to facing materials compared to conventional products, which has a high friction coefficient upon braking when used in repeated braking during high-speed traveling, and which is capable of suppressing pad wear and uneven pad wear, in the case that the friction material composition is formed into a brake pad for passenger cars. The present invention can also provide a friction material and a friction member using this friction material composition.

摘要： In a process of manufacturing a substrate provided with a synthetic resin-bonded friction coating, the friction coating, which is joined to the substrate by a primer is formed in that a powder mixture which contains a friction powder and a synthetic resin powder is compacted and is cured at an elevated temperature.To eliminate the need for precompacting the powder mixture before it is applied to the substrate, said powder mixture is applied to the substrate to form a powder layer which can be compacted to the desired thickness of the friction coating. The powder layer which has been applied is then heated for a short time before the powder layer is compacted to the desired thickness of the friction coating.
