    • The invention relates to a device for removing loose cinder from the surface of a slab, especially a thin slab of a mini mill. One such mini mill comprises at least one slab casting machine, a slab separating device, a thermal compensation furnace and at least one roll stand comprising a reeling installation. The inventive device is improved in that a spray device (11) comprises at least one lower spray pipe (2) and at least one upper spray pipe (3) in relation to the slab (1), each spray pipe being fitted with a number of spray nozzles (4). Said spray device (11) is arranged in front of the roller hearth furnace (5) of the mini mill and is connected to a water supply (6) having the technologically required pressure and a volume flow which is adapted to the number of spray nozzles (4). The invention also relates to an operating method for the spray device (11).

    • The present invention relates to a multi-functional surface cleaning machine having a fluid tank, a pump, and at least one receptacle for holding concentrated cleaning chemicals. The receptacle(s) are in fluid communication with an operator controllable selector. The selector, either alone or in combination with a metering valve, may control which chemical(s) and the amount of such chemical(s) that will be allowed to flow to an inlet of a multi-inlet mixing member. A second input to the mixing member is a fluid to be stored within the fluid tank. The fluid and chemical which may be supplied to the mixing member may be mixed within the mixing member to create a cleaning solution, which may be supplied to any number of dispensing devices. One such device could be a spray gun for dispensing pressurized cleaning solutions onto a surface to be cleaned.

    • The invention is a spray arm hub/head for a high-temperature, automatic ware washer. The hub/head sub-assembly of the invention is mounted to the inlet water line via a double ball-bearing coupling that is independent of the hub. The substantially non-enclosed ball-bearing coupling enables the hub/head sub-assembly to rotate freely within the washer. Also, the hub/head sub-assembly has ports and clamps for removably receiving spray arm sub-assemblies. This way, the spray arms may be quickly and easily removed for repair and replacement. In addition, because the ball-bearing mount is not enclosed within the hub/head assembly, the bearing is readily accessible for cleaning and maintenance and is also easily removable for repair or replacement.

    • An apparatus for cleaning a substrate includes a bearing assembly, a tubular shaft, a substrate support, a process bowl, and a dispenser. The tubular shaft has an upper end and a lower end. The substrate support has a lower region connected to the tubular shaft and an upper region that supports the substrate. The process bowl surrounds and is spaced outwardly from the substrate support. The process bowl has a slot in an outer wall that receives a robot arm that positions the substrate on the substrate support and that withdraws the substrate from the substrate support. The dispenser has an outlet that directs liquid through the area, toward the upper region. The dispenser is positioned beneath the upper region.
