摘要： An improved waste disposer having shredding means in a comminution chamber and a rotor rotatable within the chamber. Freely rotating impellers are provided on the rotor which rotate as the rotor is rotated. Each impeller includes at least one main cutting blade adapted to cooperate with the shredding means to comminute waste in the chamber. Each impeller also includes one or more subsidiary cutting blades for assisting in grinding such waste. The blades on one impeller are mounted in a mirror image relationship to the blades on the other impeller to provide improved comminution of the waste.

摘要： A sink mount support assembly for a waste food disposer includes a pair of annular members having means thereon to enable engagement of the members, one with the other, when the members are brought together in axial alignment and one of the members is rotated with respect to the other. The means of engaging one of the members to the other provides a first holding position whereby the disposer is suspended beneath the sink but may be axially rotated to complete the plumbing connection thereto. A second relatively tight position is provided whereby the disposer is fastened firmly to the sink drain sleeve and prevented from thereafter rotating relative thereto. The means of engaging the two annular members of the sink mount support assembly is a quick connect arrangement requiring only that the rotatable annular member be manually driven in rotation a relatively short distance to complete the precedure of mounting a disposer to a sink drain sleeve, and it is a quick disconnect assembly inasmuch as the rotatable member may be thereafter manually driven to rotate in a direction opposite to the connecting rotation to free the disposer unit from the drain sleeve.

摘要： A waste disposal device having a comminuting chamber containing comminuting means powered by a hydraulic motor. Water efflux from the motor enters the chamber to aid passage of waste through the chamber. The disclosed comminuting means embodies a fixed comminuting member and a coacting oscillatory comminuting member driven in oscillation by a positive displacement oscillatory rotary vane hydraulic motor. Water flow to and from the hydraulic chamber spaces at opposite sides of the rotor vane is controlled by a reversing valve operated by the rotor at the ends of its oscillatory stroke in such a way that the rotor is driven in oscillation without stalling. The comminuting cutters of the disposal device have improved comminuting elements which provide a superior and powerful waste comminuting action.

The apparatus in accordance with the invention includes a frame; an upstream and a first downstream pair of opposed rollers mounted for rotation within the frame, at least one of the rollers being rotated by a rotary drive mechanism. The apparatus further includes opposed upper and lower conveyors advanced between the upstream and first downstream pairs of opposed rollers as the rollers rotate, with the lower conveyor providing along opposite edges thereof for liquid run-off. The apparatus further includes an input region adjacent the upstream pair of rollers for introducing food by-products onto the lower conveyor. The first downstream pair of opposed rollers form between the upper and lower conveyors a gap of a first defined height. The upstream pair of opposed rollers form between the upper and lower conveyors a gap of a second defined height, wherein the first defined height is substantially less than second defined height. Planes of the opposed upper and lower conveyors define, between the upstream and downstream pairs of opposed rollers, a gradual tapered throat. The throat is for entry of food by-product within the input region and for controlled compression thereof between the conveyors within the throat to remove liquid therefrom as the drive mechanism rotates.

摘要： A two-piece stopper is provided for insertion into the mouth of garbage disposal units. The first piece inserts snugly into the open disposal mouth and has rather large apertures through which water can pass, when the disposal unit is not in use and the sink in which it is mounted is to be used as an ordinary sink. The apertures are large enough to pass small bits of food and waste, but small enough to keep out popsicle sticks, bottlecaps, silverware, and the like. The second piece is a plug which inserts into a cylindrical wall or bore in the first piece to cover the drain apertures of the first piece so that the sink's drain opening is entirely covered and the sink can be filled with water for washing dishes and similar purposes.

摘要： Mounting apparatus for installing a food waste disposer in a sink in a bottom opening thereof wherein the disposer is moved downwardly through the opening and is clamped to the sink about the edge of the opening. A water inlet connector is mounted to the disposer subjacent the sink and a waste discharge conduit is mounted to the disposer below the water inlet connection. An improved clamp ring and locking ring structure are provided for effecting the clamping of the disposer to the sink opening edge. The water inlet connector is installed by movement downwardly through the upper end of the disposer and subsequently urging it outwardly through a horizontal opening of the disposer. The water discharge conduit includes a tubular element secured to the disposer by a strap clamp encircling the disposer.
