    • A starting device of a toy engine comprises a spring, a starting piece, and a unidirectional bevel gear. The motion of the spring between the two fulcrums serves to ensure that the control rod is kept securely in place at a disengaging position and an engaging position. The unidirectional bevel gear is mounted behind the engine propeller and is controlled by the starting piece to prevent the propeller from turning in reverse at the time when the engine is started. The clutch is formed of two clutch pieces which are mounted between the propeller and the engine head. One of the two clutch pieces is mounted on the front end of the propeller shaft for imparting the engine power. Other one of the two clutch pieces is mounted in front of the propeller. The two clutch pieces are symmetrical in construction to each other and are therefore capable of joining together to enable the propeller shaft to actuate the propeller to turn. The clutching mechanism of the two clutch pieces enables the engine propeller to remain in the idling state, thereby resulting in the conservation of power source during the flight of a toy airplane which is equipped with the toy engine.

    • The rotating toy in accordance with the present invention includes a hub having an outer portion rotatably connected to an inner portion. At least three rods extending outwardly from the hub to connect to an outer ring. A motor operably connected to a propeller is further disposed on each rob between the hub and the outer ring. In addition the rods are positioned such that each is offset by the same predetermined angle. When operating, the propellers spin in a first direction exerting a reaction torque in the opposite direction causing the outer portion to rotate in the opposite direction. The inner portion includes a plurality of legs with vanes that protruded outwardly such that the downward moving air is deflected causing the inner portion not to rotate. A tether attached to a control box and the rotating toy communicates a drive voltage to each motor. The control box further includes a means for determining the orientation of the motors at a specified point of reference thereby permitting a user to change the direction of the rotating toy in reference to person operating the toy.

    • An airfoil launching system having a rod with a structure attached to a first end of the rod. A pusher holds a ring airfoil and has a sufficient coefficient of friction that the ring airfoil will generally rotate with the pusher and is rotatably and slidably mounted on the rod. Propulsive force is provided by resilient bands connected to the structure outward from the rod and to the pusher outward from the central aperture of the pusher. A string guide is rotatably attached to the rod and has apertures through which generally non-resilient cords, the first ends of which are attached to the pusher outward from the central aperture, pass. The second ends of the generally non-resilient cords are connected to each other, preferably with a pliable grip.
