A further departure of the traditional putter design and method of manufacture involve the use of extruded metal to form the main putter head. The extruded stock can be cut to desired lengths allowing for economical production of different weight putter heads.

In accordance with one embodiment a berish bracket is attached to two points on a club head for increased controllability The shaft attaches to the berish and provides the force necessary to propel the ball forward but, due to the configuration of the berish bracket, the forces is applied at two points along the club head. In accordance with another embodiment, the club shaft is configured to point forward of the moment of mass of the club head, thereby further increasing controllability In accordance with other embodiments, a configurable knuckle is configured between the club shaft and the berish bracket for is optimizing controllability for an individual golfer. In addition to optimizing controllability, the configurable knuckle provides for six-degrees-adjustability thereby allowing a club to be reconfigured to handle and feel similar to other clubs by articulating adjustments on the knuckle to predetermined adjustment settings.

摘要： A golf putter is provided in which the lie and/or loft angle thereof may be semi-permanently but reversibly adjusted by a golfer prior to playing, to suit the individual golfer's stance, swing dynamics, playing skill and/or condition of the greens on which the golfer intends to play. An adjustable lie/loft angle putter according to the present invention includes a hollow tubular shaft and a head coupled together by a reversibly bendable coupling element which preferably is fabricated from a relatively ductile metal such as stainless steel which is formed into an elongated, hollow tube which has a circular cross section. A first, upper longitudinal end of the coupling element is insertably received in the lower opening of a bore within the shaft, while the other end of the coupling element is attached directly to the putter head or to a hosel protruding from the head. At least an intermediate portion of the coupling element is sufficiently flexible to allow it to be bent to a contour which provides desired lie/loft angles, by force applied to the shaft while the head is held immobile.
