摘要： In one embodiment is provided an apparatus which forms conically shaped smoking shells having blocking tips, the apparatus including: (i) a conical form mandrel having an exterior surface, an interior section, and a vacuum opening fluidly connecting the interior section with the exterior surface; (ii) a motor operably connected to the conical form mandrel which can rotate the conical form mandrel; (iii) a conical form mandrel vacuum system operably connected to the interior section of conical form mandrel; (iv) a vacuum table having an upper surface, a vertical elevation system operably connected to the upper surface, which vertical elevation system vertically positions the upper surface, and table heater supported by the vacuum table, and a table vacuum system operably connected to the upper surface; and (v) a garage system located next to the conical form mandrel, the garage system including a base and a garage carriage slidingly connected to the base, the garage carriage including first and second ends with an internal opening extending from the first to the second end, an a squeeze lock connected to the garage carriage and the apparatus is used to form conical smoking shells.

摘要： A smoking article and method of manufacture provides a sheet of smokable material having a plurality of edges. One or more score or cuts are made in the sheet that each extend a partial distance from a first said edge toward a second said edge, the score or cut separating large and small sections of the sheet. A hinge is defined by a portion of the sheet of smokable material that is next to a score or cut, said hinge joining the large section to the small section. A conically shaped form is provided for shaping the sheet. The form has an outer surface, a large diameter end, a small diameter end, and a cavity that extends to said small diameter end. Corrugations on the small section of the sheet enable the small section to be fitted into the cavity via the small diameter end. The hinge enables the sheet to fold when the small section occupies the cavity in an assembled position wherein the large section is wrapped around the form outer surface. In the assembled position, the corrugations enable the small section to gather together to define a filter.

摘要： A paper material is provided herein, wherein the paper material includes a fibrous material including at least 5 dry weight percent of fibers derived from a plant of the Nicotiana species; wherein the paper material has a basis weight ranging from about 5 g/m2 to about 450 g/m2; and wherein the paper material has a caliper ranging from about 0.01 mils to about 200 mils. The paper material can be suitable for use in a smoking article in the form of at least one of a tipping material, a plug wrap and a wrapping material. The paper material can be suitable for use in at least one of a soft carton container suitable to house smoking articles, a label, a paper substrate of a barrier layer, a hard carton suitable to house smoking articles and a container suitable to house smokeless tobacco products.

A conveyor unit is configured to receive a continuous stream of the tobacco material and to transport the continuous tobacco material stream along an elongate path for formation of the continuous tobacco material stream into a continuous tobacco rod, wherein the conveyor unit is housed in a conveyor housing. A suction system is in fluid communication with the conveyor housing through a suction port and is configured to apply suction to the conveyor housing via the suction port so as to draw the continuous tobacco stream into engagement with the conveyor unit. A wear resistant member is engaged with a wall of the conveyor housing and defines the suction port, wherein the wear resistant member is configured to resist wear from interaction with particles associated with the tobacco material.

摘要： An automatic cigarette maker comprises a case that is provided with a container therein. The container has an opening at the top thereof. The tobacco leaves in the container are pushed out of a tobacco supply duct by a feeding module. A rotary disc is connected with one end of a linkage arrangement and is provided with a plurality of tubes that are arranged in a form of circular array. Each tube is provided with a cigarette paper therein. Thereby, when the linkage arrangement moves the rotary disc backward relative to the container, a tube covers the tobacco supply duct for filling tobacco leaves. When the rotary disc is moved forward, a cigarette paper is fully filled with tobacco leaves. When being moved relative to the container forward and backward once, the rotary disc is rotated at a constant angle. Consequently, the tubes can cover the tobacco supply duct one after another and tobacco leaves can be filled into each cigarette paper in sequence.

The cigarette possesses more than one layer of tipping material. Thus, it is possible for a cigarette manufacturer to provide a cigarette that can be used as such by the smoker, or that can be adapted by the smoker to provide a different sensory experience (e.g., the visual, organoleptic, trigeminal, aromatic, and tactile characteristics of the cigarette can be altered by removal of the outer tipping material). Alternatively, the use of the outer layer of tipping material can be used to improve the physical integrity of the cigarette.
