摘要： Copper sulfate, sodium hydroxide and aqueous ammonia are mixed at a pH of 10 to 12.5, the reaction mixture containing 3 to 10 grams of ammonia per liter of reaction mixture. The reactants may be fed to the reaction zone as separate streams or, if desired, the copper sulfate solution and the aqueous ammonia may be initially mixed and fed together to the reaction zone for mixture with the sodium hydroxide. The reaction temperature is maintained at less than 112* F. and the retention time is controlled so as to avoid the undesired decomposition of the cupric hydroxide product to copper oxide. The product thus obtained comprises an essentially pure cupric hydroxide product suitable for use as a chemical intermediate. In addition, the product obtained at a pH of above about 11.7 has a particle size sufficiently small so as to make the product highly suitable for use as a fungicide.

摘要： A pesticide composition for snails which includes a binder, at least one bait substance, a snail pecticide and expanded perlite, which is a carrier. The expanded perlite is present as granules in an amount between 30 to 70 percent by weight based on the total weight of the pesticide composition. The snail pesticide is substantially located on the surface of the expanded perlite and is attached to the surface of the expanded perlite by means of the binder. The perlite is in its expanded form and is in a substantially spheroidal shape having a uniformly rough surface. Preferably the binder is wheat starch. Preferably the pesticide is metaldehyde. A process for the production of a pesticide composition for snails which includes adhering at least one bait substance and a snail pesticide by means of a binder to expanded perlite.A further pesticide composition for snails which includes a binder, at least one bait substance, a snail pesticide, a carrier, and least one amide having the formula: ##STR1## wherein X is an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom, n is 0 or 1, R.sub.1 is --OH or --OCH.sub.3 and R.sub.2 is an alkyl group having 5 to 11 carbon atoms, or an alkylene group having 5 to 11 carbon atoms, or an alkyl group having 5 to 11 carbon atoms and being substituted with a phenyl group or a phenyl group substituted with one to three alkyl groups, each such alkyl group having one to five carbon atoms, or an alkylene group having 5 to 11 carbon atoms and being substituted with a phenyl group or a phenyl group substituted with one to three alkyl groups, each such alkyl group having one to five carbon atoms. The amide irritates the mucous membrane of warm-blooded animals and prevents them from picking up and eating the pesticide composition. A process of preparing such pesticide composition.

摘要： Fungicidal or algicidal agents are provided which consist of a copper salt of an acid which is an unsaturated dibasic acid of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is hydrogen or lower alkyl together with an inorganic copper compound which is sparingly soluble or insoluble in water for example basic copper chloride, basic copper sulfate, basic copper carbonate, copper silicate, cuprous oxide, basic copper phosphate and copper hydroxide. The copper salt and the inorganic copper compound are preferably divided a finely as possible and thereafter mixed. The compositions are of low toxicity, provide a lasting effect and do not give rise generally to secondary noxious products.
