摘要： The invention is a rat and mouse trap that springs open a pair of doors that lead to a containment area for either killing the rats or capturing the them alive. The device uses a box shaped compartment having a pair of doors in the center and held closed by a latch on each of the doors. The latch is attached to a solenoid activated pivoting means that disengages the latch from the doors to allow them to open temporarily to drop the rat into the containment chamber below. The solenoid means is operated by a microswitch in connection with bait over the doors. Upon touching the bait, the microswitch sends an electric signal to the solenoid which pivots and pulls both latches away from the doors and holds them open long enough for the rat to drop into the containment area below.

摘要： A door hinge mechanism for a live catch wire mesh animal cage trap and a method of mounting a cage trap door to a wire mesh animal cage trap using the door hinge mechanism is provided. The hinge mechanism includes a door mounting portion and a roof mounting portion joined by a body portion. The door mounting portion captures a laterally extending upper edge bar of the door and positions the door relative to a laterally extending wire bar on the roof to couple the door to the trap body and create a hinge axle therebetween. The roof mounting portion, which is spaced rearwardly from the door mounting portion by the body portion, secures the hinge mechanism to the roof of the trap body. When so mounted, the hinge mechanism provides greater trap stiffness at the hinge, improved rigidity of the hinge mechanism and trap door, and reduced friction in the hinge pivot.

The animal trap includes a capturing enclosure 12 provided with a first entrance 11, a swing plate 13, provided in an approach 15 of an animal entered from the first entrance 11, for plugging up the first entrance 11 by swinging forward, and a locking mechanism 14 for temporarily locking the swing plate 13 so that the swing plate 13 swung to plug up the first entrance 11 does not swing back. The temporary locking mechanism 14 includes a first lock part 21A and a second lock part 21B that are disposed in a front end part of the swing plate 13. The lock parts are constructed to have mutually different heights at which the swing plate 13 is temporarily locked. When an animal enters, the swing plate 13 swings to plug up the first entrance 11, and it is temporarily locked. The swing plate 13 can be swung by a small weight.

摘要： Repeating animal traps incorporating one or more inclined plane trap assemblies with means to preclude an animal on the tilting floor member of the trap assembly from engaging the top and/or side edges of the door member of the trap assembly in an attempt to escape from the trap by pulling the door member down to thereby unblock access to the entrance opening. Additional means are shown to preclude an animal within the enlarged holding chamber or enclosure of the repeating animal trap from engaging the inner end portions of the floor member in an attempt to escape from the trap by pulling the floor member down, enabling the animal to climb onto the floor member and then attempt to pull the door member down to escape from the trap. A barrier in the form of sharpened projections and/or an inclined ramp is provided beneath the inner end portions of the floor member to discourage an animal entering or nesting within that space when the floor member is raised in the reset position of the trap assembly. The barrier can include an inclined ramp whereby the space between the floor member and the ramp is decreased as an additional animal enters the trap assembly, to push an animal beneath the tilting floor member back into the enclosure. A plastic version of the repeating animal trap assembly enables thermoforming of many of the structural elements into the housing cover. Catches are also provided to selectively secure a glue board to the cover of the repeating animal trap to capture an animal attempting to bypass the entrance openings of the trap by running over the trap housing.

摘要： A mousetrap having a housing with an entrance compartment, a one-way tunnel connected to the upper part of the entrance compartment and a storage compartment. The entrance compartment has a resettable balance or ramp that tips over when the animal walks over it towards a bait that is positioned at a suitable location beyond the tipping point. Once tipped, the balance portion leading to the entrance is elevated beyond the entrance opening leaving only one available path for the animal, the one-way tunnel. A latch member holds the balance in that position until it is released by the animal after it goes through a second one-way door inside the tunnel. From the tunnel, the animal can only go to the storage compartment.
