    • An adjustable axle assembly is provided for use on a mower. The assembly includes an arcuate shaped axle member that can be connected to the frame of a mower. The axle member has first and second ends with a cylindrically shaped first castor pivot member connected to the first end and a cylindrically shaped second castor pivot member connected to the second end. The first castor pivot member has first and second ends with first and second castor openings respectively formed therein. The first and second castor openings are differently sized to receive differently sized castor wheels. The second castor pivot member has first and second ends with third and fourth castor openings respectively formed therein. The third and fourth castor openings are differently sized to receive differently sized castor wheels. A bushing and a rod connect the axle to the frame while allowing the axle to articulate and pivot with respect to the frame.

    • An edging and trimming assembly for use with a lawn mower includes a flexible shaft extending through a hollow arm with the arm being connected to a mower deck through a hub for pivotal movement of the arm. A gear train is connected to the lawn mower's power driven rod and is selectably coupled to one end of the flexible shaft for selectable rotation thereof. A trimmer head is attached to an opposed end of the flexible shaft and includes a cutter for cutting grass upon rotation of the trimmer head. A linkage extends between the arm and the trimmer head for adjusting the trimmer head between horizontal and vertical cutting planes. The linkage enables the trimmer head to move between selectable angular configurations. A shield member is rotatably coupled to the flexible shaft for surrounding the trimmer head and defines an opening through which the cutting member extends.

    • An adjustable mowing and trimming apparatus is presented having a wheel adjust mechanism and trimming assembly. The apparatus includes a housing to which at least two wheels are rotatably mounted at opposite sides of the wheel adjust mechanism. The wheel adjust mechanism includes a pair of wheel brackets having a C-shaped configuration, each of which pivotally attaches to the housing and is provided with an outwardly extending axle for supporting a wheel. A tie rod attaches at respective opposite ends to the wheel brackets. A slotted bracket is attached to the tie rod and movable in response to a movable arm to reorient the wheels on either side of the housing. The trimming assembly is mounted at a front portion of the housing and includes a spindle assembly rotatably attached to a shaft, which is fixedly attached to the housing.
