摘要： An impact resistant roofing shingle which includes an asphalt coated substrate whose unexposed surface is laminated to an organic film. A process of forming that shingle includes the step of applying an organic film, by spraying a latex, by applying a rubber polymer modified asphalt, by compressing a plastic film having a higher melting or decomposition temperature than the melting point of the asphalt coating or by applying an adhesive to which a plastic film is applied to the unexposed surface of the asphalt coated substrate.

摘要： A method of preparing a composite configured to release refrigerant therefrom comprises providing a substrate material comprising polarized fibers of glass, polyamide, phenylene sulfide, carbon or graphite bonding thereon a metal compound comprising a complex compound of a polar gaseous refrigerant and a metal salt and/or a hydrated metal hydroxide and/or a metal hydroxide of a metal comprising alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, transition metal, zinc, cadmium, tin, aluminum, or two or more thereof, at a concentration of at least about 0.3 grams/cc of open substrate material volume, forming layers of the metal compound bonded substrate material, and sealing at least one layer or the exterior surface of the substrate material with a coating composition configured to prevent release of internal gaseous refrigerant therethrough at ambient temperatures and pressure and capable of penetration of gaseous refrigerant therethrough from the composite interior at temperatures causing internal gas pressures of 15% or more above exterior pressure for such refrigerant release.

摘要： A sealing material is presented which can be applied to surfaces and/or surfaces having seams, cracks, crevices and the like to hinder growth and colonization of bacteria while maintaining adhesion over a wide range of service, or use, conditions. The sealing material includes a fluoropolymer layer and a rubber based adhesive layer which is capable of adhering the sealing material to the surface or surfaces to be sealed. The invention combines the inherent anti-stick and hydrophobic properties of fluoropolymers with excellent adhesive characteristics of the rubber based adhesive.

A sufficient portion of the fibers from the non-woven fabric being forced into the apertures of the scrim such that the scrim reinforces and supports the non-woven fabric, thus increasing their strength. A shrinkable, stretchable film is intermittently bonded to at least one non-woven fabric. The material is used by placing the material around the article to be protected and then shrinking the film.

摘要： A burn through and flame propagation resistant system, includes a sheet of burn through and flame propagation resistant paper made of aramid fibers, mica flakes, and aramid fibrid binder; and one or more sheets of polymeric film, preferably, flame propagation resistant polymeric film, bonded to at least one major surface of the sheet of burn through and flame propagation resistant paper to form a laminated sheet. Preferably, for many applications, the system is also water vapor transmission resistant with the sheet or sheets of polymeric film or a coating providing the water vapor transmission resistance. The burn through and flame propagation resistant paper and/or polymeric film(s) may have major surface(s) coated with a heat sealable adhesive, e.g. for securing the laminated sheet to itself or another laminated sheet to form a bag or envelope for encapsulating insulation. The laminated sheet may be used as a covering or bag that encapsulates insulation material or as a layer overlaying, intermediate or underlaying one or more layers of insulation material. As an alternative to the laminated sheet, the system may include a sheet of burn through and flame propagation resistant paper which is treated with a heat and/or ultrasonically sealable, moisture and flame propagation resistant polyvinylfluoride water based emulsion.
