    • A rotary cutter assembly for cutting or milling the edge of a workpiece which is formed of layers of different materials. The rotary cutter assembly comprises a first cutter head and a separate second cutter head disposed in mutual coaxial relationship. The rotary cutter assembly is adapted for rotation about the mutual coaxial axis. The first cutter head includes at least one cutter blade pocket open to the perimeter of the first cutter head, a cutter blade received within the cutter blade pocket with its cutting edge protruding from the pocket opening beyond the perimeter of the first cutter head, and an adjustment device for adjusting the distance by which the cutting edge of the cutter blade protrudes beyond the perimeter of the cutter head. The second cutter head includes at least one cutting edge formed in the perimeter of the second cutter head.

    • The turning tool has a disc-shaped base element 1 connectable to the spindle of a lathe and four toolholders 6, 7, each with one or more cutting plate supports 12, adjustable radially relative to the rotary axis (D-D), clampable with an adjusting screw 25, and carrying a cutting plate 23. Different cutting plate supports 12a, 12b and 12c can be used to enable a variety of machining operations to be carried out.

    • A reamer has a head with a recessed bearing plane which absorbs the pressure of a clamping member which presses against one side of a cutter knife. A counter member is positioned with one side displacable on the recessed bearing plane in the direction of increased cutting diameter. The cutter knife is held between the clamping member and the counter member. The counter member has a region with a straight holding portion which supports the cutter knife. The clamping member and counter member have congruent oblong holes which extend in the direction of increased cutting diameter. These holes are traversed by a clamping screw which is screwed into a threaded hole in the head. When the screw is tightened, the three piece unit of clamping member, cutter knife and counter member are tightened in the reamer head. A pair of set screws pass through holes in the head to move contact pieces against a thrust bar which extends from the straight holding portion of the counter member, and hence move the three piece unit in the direction of increased cutting diameter.

    • A chucking reamer has a flattened section on its head, with a crescent-shaped recess. A crescent-shaped body which retains a cutter device is held in the cresent-shaped recess by a fixing screw and a pair of headless screws are threaded into the head to adjust the position of the crescent-shaped body and the cutting device. The carbide cutter device and the steel crescent-shaped body are in one piece. The fixing screw has a conical head which fits into a conical recess in the crescent-shaped body. An inner threaded hole is provided through the head, running perpendicularly from the bottom face of the crescent-shaped recess, for receiving the shank of the fixing screw. The longitudinal axis of this inner threaded hole is displaced downwards in relation to the longitudinal axis of the conical recess, so that when the crescent-shaped body is to be moved to the smallest radius position and the fixing screw is tightened, the shank of the fixing screw experiences a bending stress, which pulls the crescent-shaped body as close as possible to the curved walls of the crescent-shaped recess.

A clamping jaw for each cutting body is provided in the other remaining half of the receiving bore and, under the action of the remaining screw, is supported at its front, outer end on the top of the cutting body and by its rear end on the supporting surface of the tool support. The clamping jaw has at its front end a shoulder supporting the cutting body in the direction of sliding and is provided with a setscrew extending parallel to the groove. The rear end of the setscrew is supported on the base of the receiving bore. The front end of the setscrew is accessible through a bore opening out in the outer end face of the clamping jaw.
