    • There is provided a clamp-type apparatus for connecting a first object, such as a vibratory mechanism, to a second object that is a box-type vessel having at least one slot in a side near a corner, such as a steamship truck container, which apparatus comprises: (a) a first plate having a first aperture and at least one second aperture, the at least one second aperture being used to attach the first object to the first side of the first plate; (b) a bolt-type fastener for attaching the second object to the second side of the first plate, the fastener passing through the first aperture and being capable of rotating about its axis; (c) a rod for rotating the fastener about its axis; and (d) a small second plate for preventing movement of the apparatus relative to the second object, the second plate being perpendicular to and attached to the first plate. There are also provided a method for connecting a vibratory mechanism to a steamship truck container and a method for vibrating a steamship truck container.

    • A pegbar display device for presenting packages such as cold cut or cheese packages, or automotive parts, for retailing has a peg support bar and a merchandise peg; the bar is a rectangular tube having a keyhole that is taller than it is wide and with a flat bottom, the bar back member has a corresponding backbore which is directly behind and slightly below the keyhole; the peg has a front body, a toe on the back of the body, a horizontal indexing flat on the bottom of the peg, and lateral abutments between the toe and the index flat; the peg is turned ninety degrees to go into the bar; when in the bar the peg is then turned back ninety degrees and the index flat rests upon the keyhole flat bottom and the abutments engage the inside of the tubular bar to retain the peg in the bar. An information carrier is mountable in front of the support bar, and on carrier support pegs, each carrier peg has a friction lock outer end with an inward facing shoulder and a wing nut, the carrier is a display bar having a rearward facing C-section that is clamped by the shoulder nut; the carrier and support pegs are normally locked in the bar, however, the carrier support pegs can be loosened from the carrier and rotated for release of the carrier from the support bar.

    • A fastener system enabling assembly of kit components by an unskilled purchaser without use of tools. A wedge-lock ring is seated in a pre-formed socket in one kit member such as a horizontal shelf. A pin is seated in an opening in another kit member such as a vertical end panel. The pin is then engaged with the ring, and the kit members are drawn together tightly and securely in an assembled position. Disassembly is accomplished simply by tapping the kit members to disengage the pin from the ring. A cam locking member and retractable pin are also disclosed for use with the system. The fastener system is useful in assembling bookshelves, cabinets, tables, chairs, desks and other articles which are marketed in kit form.

    • A light fixture support is provided comprising a support bar having slots at the extremities which cooperate with inverted "T" members forming the framework for a conventional suspended ceiling to adjustably locate and secure a light fixture within the framework. The slot configuration defined by the light fixture support permits the enlarged extremity of the upstanding portion of the "T" member to be rotated for insertion within the slot, returned to a vertical position, and retained within the slot. If desired, an adjustable support may be provided for accommodating a variety of "T" member spacings or for compact packaging with a light fixture.

    • A stabilizer strut extending transversely between grid members in a supporting grid system and the like. The strut includes a pair of leg portions disposed at right angles to one another with each end of the strut including a pair of aligned slot portions for engagement with an underlying grid member. Each grid member includes an upstanding web means surmounted by a bead means wherein the latter receives the pair of aligned slot portions which are open at the non-adjacent, lateral edges of the strut leg portions. One slot on each end of the strut corresponding to one another include a locking projection extending inwardly from the side of the slot at a point adjacent to the open end thereof at the lateral edge of the strut. The locking projection is adapted to extend beneath the bead means of a grid member to restrain the strut against vertical uplift while the other slot at each end of the strut is of a width adapted to be received over the bead means so as to be in sufficient lateral engagement therewith to provide stabilized lateral support between the grid members.

    • A structural connection or clip-in joist especially adapted for a framing system for a building, house, storage cabinet, or the like. The connection comprises a special channel extrusion joist having a slot or cut in each leg thereof opposite each other and near the end of the joist or structural member. The slotted end section of the joist is adapted to be inserted or snapped-in a second structural member, such as an I-beam or channel member or other structural member having a similar configuration. The members are preferably made of structural aluminum, but can also be made from metals such as iron, steel and the like or plastics such as PVC, ABS, styrene and the like. A wide variety of types of structural materials may be used, depending upon the particular requirements of the end or resulting construction.

    • A clamp for a convolute wire cable or the like including a socket member having a conically tapered recess extending therethrough and a unitary inner core portion of substantially conico-frustrum configuration seated in the recess with the convolute strands of the cable being secured within helical grooves formed on the outer periphery of the core portion. The core portion includes an elongated conically tapered smooth bore extending along its longitudinal center axis and has one side thereof enlarged with respect to the other. An inner wedge is disposed in the enlarged side of the bore and mates with the other side forming a cylindrical central bore for receiving the center strand of the cable therein. In this manner, the inner wedge may be hammered down into the enlarged side of the bore to firmly grip the center strand of the cable while the socket member is forced onto the core portion to firmly grip the convolute strands of the cable within the socket member.
