    • A system for producing dental moldings from blanks, having a machine tool for machining a blank, and a workpiece holder for securing the blank during machining. The machine tool has in this case a mount for the workpiece holder, and the workpiece holder has a shank region that can be inserted reversibly into the mount and in the inserted state can be secured in position in the mount. Furthermore, the system has a lever element, wherein the system is configured so that the lever element can be clamped between the mount on one side and the shank region on the other side to secure the shank region in position in the mount. With such clamping of the lever element, a particularly high clamping force can be produced, by way of which the shank region of the workpiece holder can be secured in position in the mount.

    • There is disclosed chuck configurations for internally engaging the hollow core element of a roll of packaging or printing sheet or other web material in which a generally cylindrical chuck body insertable in a web core has at least one hole through the chuck body at an acute angle with the tangent to the chuck body at the outer entrance point of the hole and at an acute angle with the plane perpendicular to the chuck cylindrical axis. At least one elongated element is configured to engage rotatably in each of the holes and having on a distal end thereof one or more pointed or toothed extensions for engagement with the interior of a hollow web whereby chuck engagement with a hollow core may be made by manipulating such elongated elements to extend outside the periphery of said chuck body. The chuck may also be provided with means for securing it on a spindle or shaft for rotation therewith which is separate and independent of the holes and elongated elements for engaging the hollow core.

    • An extension for a bit or cutter tool relative to a rotational power source. The extension includes a blind bore receiving the shank of the bit or cutter. The opposite end of the body has structure that can be operatively connected to the source of rotational power. A second bore through the side of the body intersects the first bore. The second bore has two portions. The inner-most portion has a smaller diameter and is internally threaded. The outer portion has a larger diameter and slidably receives a clamping member. Clamping member can be retained by a shoulder bolt and has an end that can enter into the blind bore to clamp the shank in place. Preferably the clamping member is a sleeve having a center bore and a concentric exterior. Another aspect of the invention includes a biasing means that biases the sleeve outward of the bore.

    • A novel drill for the aerification of turf grasses is disclosed. The drill comprises a chuck and a fluted turf drill bit held by the chuck. The chuck includes a locking mechanism which permits the chuck to rotate freely about its longitudinal axis when loaded in compression (as when the drill is inserted into the ground) but which locks, preventing rotation, when the drill is loaded in tension (such as when the drill is withdrawn from the soil). The drill bit has a smooth upper section and a fluted lower section. The smooth section decreases the probability of entangling the turf in the drill bit with subsequent lifting of the turf when the drill is withdrawn. The tip of the drill bit is adapted to provide a torque to the drill bit during insertion into the ground. Thus, the bit spirals into the ground upon insertion, but locks upon removal, thereby permitting the flutes of the bit to cut a cylindrical hole in the ground while removing soil from the hole by retaining it in the space between the flutes. The drill of the present invention may be used in aerators previously limited to solid or hollow-core tines.

    • A mount for interposition between an electrode holder and an electrode for electrical discharge machining (EDM). The mount is cast from material such as aluminum or zinc. The mount has a shank portion that is connectable to the electrode holder and a connector portion or tip portion that is connectable to the electrode. The tip portion has a gluing surface that is dimensioned to be glued with a corresponding surface on the electrode. A plurality of deformable ears cast onto the gluing surface of the mount project outward and deform in contact with the electrode when the electrode and the mount are connected and bonded by glue, to thereby provide good electrical contact therebetween. The tip portion may also include grooves cast therein for receiving glue thereby improving the glue bond strength between the electrode and the mount. The mount includes an axial passage to provide for dielectric fluid flow therethrough. The shank portion includes a recess increasing the number of contact points between the mount and the electrode holder. A raised lip may be cast into the mount around the axial passageway to act as a seal between the electrode holder and the mount to prevent leakage of dielectric fluid therebetween.
