    • Continuous process for manufacturing a polyolefin resin in at least two reactors in which in a first polymerization reactor, an olefin is polymerized continuously in the presence of a catalyst and a diluent to produce a first suspension comprising the diluent and polyolefin particles. At least a portion of the first suspension is transferred from the first polymerisation reactor to a second polymerisation reactor where further polymerisation takes place. A further suspension containing diluent and polymer particles is withdrawn from the second reactor and transferred to two separators, in each of which separators a diluent-rich flow and a concentrated suspension of polyolefin particles are formed and separated. The diluent-rich flow from one separator is recycled to a reactor preceding the second reactor, and the diluent-rich flow from the other separator is recycled to the second reactor. The invention enables higher separator efficiencies to be achieved.

    • Process for the polymerization of ethylene or of ethylene with further 1-olefins, in which the ethylene is polymerized in the presence of a catalyst in a gas-phase reactor and reaction gas comprising propane and unpolymerized ethylene is circulated to remove the heat of polymerization, wherein the polymer particles are discharged continuously or discontinuously from the reactor, the polymer particles are separated from the major part of the concomitantly discharged gas and the polymer particles are degassed, the gas is freed of entrained fine particles and is separated from a low-boiling fraction comprising ethylene or from a high boiling fraction containing further 1-olefins or alkanes having from 4 to 12 carbon atoms in a first separation stage, a propane fraction is separated off in a second separation stage and this propane fraction is used for degassing the polymer particles discharged from the reactor, with the proportion of ethylene in the propane fraction being less than 1 mol % and the proportion of 1-olefins and alkanes having from 4 to 12 carbon atoms in the propane fraction being less than 4 mol %, in each case based on the total propane fraction. Furthermore, an apparatus for carrying out the process. In this way, a high heat discharge from the reactor, satisfactory degassing of the discharged polymer particles and recovery of the reaction gas discharged together with the polymer particles and also the gas used for degassing the polymer particles are made possible.

    • An object of the present invention is to provide a method for effectively producing, within a short period of time, a radical polymer having controlled molecular weight distribution or a narrow molecular weight distribution profile, the method including polymerizing a radical-polymerizable monomer. Another object of the invention is to provide a microreactor which can be readily fabricated. The invention attains the objects through provision of a method for producing a radical polymer, which method includes feeding a radical polymerization initiator and a radical-polymerizable monomer into a reaction tube having an inner diameter of 2 mm or less and performing polymerization in the reaction tube in a homogeneous liquid state under flow conditions, and a microreactor having a jacket for allowing a temperature-regulating fluid to pass therethrough and a plurality of round tubes which are arranged in parallel in the jacket, each having an inner diameter of 2 mm or less, wherein reaction temperature in the round tubes can be regulated through flowing of the temperature-regulating fluid in the jacket.
