At least one of a focusing servo loop, a tracking servo loop, a spindle servo loop, and a time base servo loop employs digital conversion of an analog error signal for processing in a microprocessor. The analog-to-digital conversion circuitry has an input-output characteristic which varies in accordance with error signal level, enabling a reduction in the number of bits of A/D output necessary, and reducing cost.

摘要： A compensator for inserting a signal segment into a video signal in substitution for a signal segment that is detected to be impaired is particularly adapted to use with discrete-sample-type video signals as, for example, may be derived using an imager having a grid of elemental imaging areas. Such compensator includes first and second registers that are capable of receiving new data in one mode and reading out data with recirculation thereof in a second mode. In operation, the registers reciprocate from one mode to the other on a scan-line by scan-line basis, but reciprocation is cancelled upon detection of a dropout or other signal impairment. Cancellation of a mode change automatically results in an insertion of recirculated information for a previous scan line.

摘要： A method for time axis control for performing both coarse and fine time axis adjustment in accordance with relative speeds of a recording disk and a playback unit while the playback unit is recording or reproducing signals on or from the disk, wherein a color image is displayed during a scanning operation, which displayed image is natural in appearance. The pickup unit is first caused to follow a track formed on the recording medium in a tracking control operation. Repetitive track jumping operations are then effected over successive tracks by moving the pickup unit. For the track jumping operations, a time constant circuit within a circuit which performs the fine time axis adjustment is reset at least for the duration of each track jumping operation.

As employed in the correction of time base instability of video signals, plural analog shift registers are used. The same clock rate is used, respectively, to clock video signals into and out of analog shift registers. The clock rate is set so that samples of a video signal which has a normal duration may load all stages of an analog shift register within the duration of the normal signal. Thus, samples of a stretched signal fully load all stages of the analog shift register, the trailing part of such stretched signal being discarded. Conversely, a video signal which has been compressed, although being fully loaded into the analog shift register, loads less than all of the analog shift register stages.
