    • A braking apparatus for a vehicle includes a permanent magnet synchronous motor including a rotor having a permanent magnet, and a stator capable of driving the rotor to rotate and configured to couple the rotor to each of at least a pair of wheels of the vehicle; a power accumulating portion that accumulates power to be supplied to the permanent magnet synchronous motor; a conversion control portion that converts the power of the power accumulating portion to excite the stator and control the rotation of the rotor; and an in-phase excitation control portion that applies exciting brake to the wheel by exciting the stator by supplying power in the same phase as the excitation with respect to the stator in the direction of rotation of the rotor according to the control performed by the conversion control portion, wherein the wheel is stopped by the exciting brake.

    • A mobile device comprising: a hard disk; a motor for spinning the hard disk; and a system for regenerating energy using the hard disk. The system for regenerating energy using the hard disk may include: a switch connected to the motor such that when the switch is in a first position, power flows from a power storage device to the motor to drive the motor and when the switch is in a second position, power flows from the motor based on kinetic energy of the spinning hard disk to the power storage device. The system for regenerating energy using the hard disk may be manufactured/combined with the hard disk and motor separately from the mobile device such that the system for regenerating energy may include the hard disk and motor.

    • An automatic reverse system for a shredder machine automatically causes reversal of the shredder motor when the system becomes jammed. A centrifugal switch connected with a starter winding of the drive motor disconnects power feed thereto when the motor is rotating above a predetermined speed. A manually actuated switching circuit in combination with the centrifugal switch initially energizes the system for forward operation. When a jam occurs, the centrifugal switch together with the switching circuit automatically causes a reversal in the direction of rotation of the motor, the reverse operation continuing until the operator manually actuates a switch to deenergize the system or when an automatic switch halts reverse rotation after a predetermined time period.
