摘要： A phase-controlled antenna array comprises at least four phase-controlled elements which are connected via a feed network. Each antenna element comprises a waveguide emitter with a signal output coupling or input coupling and a phase actuator which is rotatably attached in the waveguide emitter and contains a mounting and two polarizers, wherein each of the two polarizers can convert a circularly polarized signal into a linearly polarized signal. The antenna elements additionally comprise a connection element and a drive unit which is attached to a support and which is connected to the phase actuator via the connection element such that the drive unit can rotate the phrase actuator about an axis of the waveguide emitter. The antenna array additionally comprises a computing unit which is connected to the drive unit(s) of the phase-controlled antenna elements via control lines and which adjusts the rotation of each phase actuator.

摘要： A digital video broadcast satellite (DVB-S) television antenna horn assembly, reflector antenna, and a satellite communication system in which the antenna horn includes a suspended dielectric tuning vane that reduces the horn size, modifies the shape the reception pattern, and improves the antenna performance in a number of ways. The antenna horn and the dielectric tuning vane are configured to impart a combined differential phase shift protocol, such as CP polarization, on a circular polarity (CP) signal as the CP signal propagates through the horn from a reception aperture to an output aperture. The dielectric tuning vane may be built into the antenna horn, snap into the antenna horn, be built into a protective plastic lens cover that fits over horn opening, or designed to snap into the plastic lens cover. Various dielectric tuning vanes are suitable for single horn structures and multi-horn structures built into LNB amplifiers.

摘要： Disclosed is a shaped horn in conjunction with a dielectric tube for enhanced aperture directivity that can achieve a near optimum efficiency. The shaped horn provides additional mode control to provide an improved off-axis cross-polarization response. The horn shape can be individually optimized for isolated horns or for horns in a feed array. The feed array environment can produce results that lead to a different optimized shape than the isolated horn. Lower off axis cross-polarization can result in improved efficiency and susceptibility to interference.

摘要： A waveguide has distal, medial and proximal sections. The distal and medial sections rotate relative to each other and to the proximal section. In a first configuration, the waveguide transforms linearly polarized electromagnetic radiation at the proximal end of the proximal section to linearly polarized electromagnetic radiation at the distal end of the distal section and vice versa. In a second configuration, the waveguide transforms linearly polarized radiation at the proximal end of the proximal section into circularly polarized electromagnetic radiation at the distal end of the distal section and vice versa. Preferably, the distal and medial sections include respective eight-wavelength polarizers and the proximal section includes a quarter-wavelength polarizer. A multi-band antenna feed includes two such waveguides, one nested inside the other, for transforming electromagnetic radiation of respective frequency bands.
