摘要： A lead acid battery has a housing having a plurality of adjacently positioned battery plate receiving compartments. A cell of battery plates is positioned in each battery plate receiving compartment. Each cell has a plurality of positive plates, each having a positive lug, and a plurality of negative plates interleaved with the positive plates, each having a negative lug. A mold positioned on a top edge of each group of battery plates, and has two strap molding wells, each having a lead receiving space, a well base, and a plurality of lug receiving openings positioned in the well base. The positive lugs of the cell extend through the lug receiving openings in one of the strap molding wells, and the negative lugs of the cell extend through the lug receiving openings in the other strap molding well.

摘要： A lead-acid battery includes an electrode plate assembly, a battery case, a positive electrode strap, a negative electrode strap, a positive electrode post, a negative electrode post, a cover, and an electrolyte solution. A negative electrode bushing provided in the cover and the negative electrode post together constitute a negative electrode terminal. A maximum value of a gap between an outer circumferential surface of the negative electrode post and an inner circumferential surface of the negative electrode bushing in the negative electrode terminal is 0.5 mm or more and 2.5 mm or less. A rib is provided in a lower part of the negative electrode bushing, and a minimum value of a protrusion height of the rib is 1.5 mm or more and 4.0 mm or less. A distance between a surface of the electrolyte solution and a lowermost portion of the negative electrode bushing is 15 mm or less.

The plate stacks and the individual processing stations rotate in a vertically oriented circular movement and can be supplied to the clamping cassette which is positioned in the processing station.

The bipolar battery plate can include a silicon substrate. A first metal layer can be deposited on a first surface of the rigid silicon substrate, and a different second metal layer can be deposited on a second surface of the rigid silicon substrate opposite the first surface. The first and second metal layers can be annealed to form a first silicide on the first surface and a different second silicide on the second surface of the rigid silicon substrate.

摘要： A method of pulse charging a secondary electrochemical storage cell is provided. The secondary cell includes a negative electrode comprising an alkaline metal; a positive electrode comprising at least one transition metal halide; a molten salt electrolyte comprising alkaline metal haloaluminate; and a solid electrolyte partitioning the positive electrode from the negative electrode, such that a first surface of the solid electrolyte is in contact with the positive electrode, and a second surface of the solid electrolyte is in contact with the negative electrode. The method of charging includes polarizing the cell by applying a polarizing voltage greater than about 0.1 V above the cell's rest potential for a first predetermined period of time; depolarizing the cell for a second predetermined period of time; and repeating the polarizing and depolarizing steps until a charging end-point is reached.
