摘要： A method of processing a broadcast signal in a television receiver and a television receiver using the same are provided, by which contiguous packets of a transport stream can be selectively blocked in reproduction. The television receiver includes a decoder for decoding a broadcast signal constructed as a transport stream of at least one packet; a flag setting unit for setting in response to a control signal at least one blocking flag identifying at least one contiguous section of the transport stream, the at least one blocking flag being located in at least one unused field of the decoded transport stream; a controller for outputting the control signal to the flag setting unit according to a user selection signal input; and a storage medium for storing the decoded transport stream in which the at least one blocking flag is set.

摘要： In a digital information recording/reproducing apparatus, information recorded on a hard disk with copy restriction thereof is protected from being copied onto other hard disks by means of a PC, etc., to be produced a large number of illegal copies, i.e., infringing a copyright.The information is recorded onto a hard disk drive through encryption thereof, with using an identification being number unique thereto, when it is recorded onto the hard disk. With this, normal reproduction is prevented, since the drive identification number necessary for decryption is different from, even if it is copied onto the other hard disk. Also, a version information of the hard disc is memorized in an information management circuit. When the information is illegally copied onto the other hard disc, the version information is changes; therefore it does not coincide with the version information memorized in the information management circuit. With this, illegal reproduction of the information copied can be prohibited in the reproducing operation.

摘要： A method for preventing the illegal copying of a copy protected content by a computerized system by installing a driver in the operating system of the computerized system for intercepting any attempt of the I/O routines of the operating system to access the device drivers of the Operating System, producing a CRC codes for data read from devices containing original copies, producing a CRC codes for data to be written to devices, and preventing any attempt to write such data whenever the CRC code produced match a CRC code produced for read data. The protection of content stored on a recordable CD can be achieved by recording on the CD a first sA method for preventing the illegal copying of a copy protected content by a computerized system by installing a driver in the operating system of the computerized system for intercepting any attempt of the I/O routines of the operating system to access the device drivers of the Operating System, producing a CRC codes for data read from devices containing original copies, producing a CRC codes for data to be written to devices, and preventing any attempt to write such data whenever the CRC code produced match a CRC code produced for read data. The protection of content stored on a recordable CD can be achieved by recording on the CD a first session including one or more Tracks, each of which includes unique and/or nonstandard data structures. The protected content is then recorded on the CD in a concealed form together with an authentication module capable of determining the existence or non-existence of the unique and/or nonstandard data structures and capable of accessing the concealed content and reveal its content. Whenever attempting to access the CD, the authentication module is activated, and if the unique and/or nonstandard data structures are found on the CD, the concealed content is revealed and accessed.

摘要： The object of the present invention is to provide a contents data utilization system in which the contents data is shared between a plurality of mobile communication terminals while the copyright is protected. When the contents data downloaded via a communication network is stored into an external memory of a mobile communication terminal, an SIM data processing unit generates a cipher key, using an IMSI that is an identifier stored in an SIM card inserted into the terminal 1. Using the cipher key, a contents data processing unit encodes the downloaded contents data, and stores it into an external memory. When the contents data is reproduced, the SIM data processing unit generates a cipher key, using the identifier stored in the SIM card, and decodes and reproduces the contents data stored in the external memory. Thereby, the contents data can be shared between a plurality of mobile communication terminals owned by the user having the SIM card.

摘要： A storage device or drive such as a disk or tape drive including a nonvolatile erasable semiconductor memory which stores parameters which control the operation of the storage device. Through a user interface on a host computer, the user is capable of changing the parameters which are used to control the storage device, allowing the user to configure the operation of the storage device in any manner desired. The parameters which are changeable within the storage device relate to responses to the detection of errors within the storage device, data encryption algorithms, the stopping of a disk from spinning, the caching of the storage device, and data compression algorithms. The storage drive also has the capability to perform a stand-alone formatting operation. After formatting a storage medium with the assistance of the host computer, the formatted medium is read by the drive and stored in the nonvolatile memory of the storage drive. The next time a medium needs to be formatted, the formatting information is read from the memory of the storage drive to perform the formatting, thus freeing the host computer to perform other tasks.

摘要： An optical disk D is composed of a first recording layer L.sub.1 and a second recording layer L.sub.2 each for two recording formats. Encrypted data is recorded on the first recording layer L.sub.1. Encrypting key data is recorded on the second recording layer L.sub.2. The encrypting key data is used for decoding the encrypted data. This recording makes easy reproduction of the recorded data quite difficult. If data recorded on a bit-formed portion may be reproduced by any means, the data signal recorded on the optical disk cannot be easily reproduced.
