摘要： An information storage device including one or more processors configured to store an encrypted content and to control access of an external device to the information storage device is provided. The one or more processors are further configured to store a converted title key obtained by converting a title key which is an encryption key to be applied to decryption of the encrypted content, and a user token obtained by converting binding secret information to be applied to calculate the title key from the converted title key. The one or more processors are further configured to allow the external device having a confirmed access right to the information storage device to read out the user token.

摘要： There is presented a method for providing a media content, one embodiment comprising recording a first version of a movie on a first content medium in a first format, encrypting one or more content supplement to the movie, each content supplement having a format different from the first format, embedding at least one encryption key in each content supplement, providing a retrieval code for key data enabling playback of the content supplement, and bundling the content supplement and the retrieval code for distribution with the first content medium. In one embodiment, a flexible format media bundle comprises a first content medium, a first version of a media content recorded on the first content medium in a first format, at least one content supplement having a different format, at least one encryption key, and a retrieval code enabling access to the content supplement.

摘要： Remote media access is facilitated. According to an example embodiment, remote-user media access is facilitated using media provided by a subscriber media source, over a packet-based network. This access is facilitated in an environment involving subscriber users that provide media for transfer over a packet-based network to a remote device. A host server receives a request for access to media content provided by a subscriber. The request is authorized as a function of authorization criteria. In response to the request being authorized, a media source associated with the subscriber is controlled to provide requested media for access at a remote device. A media player is displayed at the remote device, and the media is provided for access via the media player.

摘要： Content usage control is realized on condition of the establishment of user authentication without having to communicate with a server or the like. An information storage device such as a memory card stores an encrypted content, a converted title key obtained by converting a title key which is an encryption key, and a user token obtained by converting binding secret information to be applied to calculate the title key from the converted title key. A reproducing device that decrypts and reproduces the encrypted content acquires the converted title key and the user token, and generates an authentication key on the basis of user identification information such as a user ID. Furthermore, the binding secret information is calculated by computation processing between the user token and the authentication key, the title key is calculated from the converted title key by applying the calculated binding secret information, and decryption processing of the encrypted content is executed by applying the calculated title key.

摘要： The object of the present invention is to provide a contents data utilization system in which the contents data is shared between a plurality of mobile communication terminals while the copyright is protected. When the contents data downloaded via a communication network is stored into an external memory of a mobile communication terminal, an SIM data processing unit generates a cipher key, using an IMSI that is an identifier stored in an SIM card inserted into the terminal 1. Using the cipher key, a contents data processing unit encodes the downloaded contents data, and stores it into an external memory. When the contents data is reproduced, the SIM data processing unit generates a cipher key, using the identifier stored in the SIM card, and decodes and reproduces the contents data stored in the external memory. Thereby, the contents data can be shared between a plurality of mobile communication terminals owned by the user having the SIM card.

摘要： A method for preventing unauthorized installation of application software is disclosed wherein application software is distributed with a user-readable permanent password, one or more user-readable one-time disposable password, and a hidden password (hidden from users but accessible by the setup program). When the setup program is run, the user must enter the permanent password and disposable password(s). The setup program sends these passwords and the target computer serial number to a remote server which verifies their validity, stores the serial number, and returns a complex password and a new disposable password from a remote passwords folder stored on the remote server. The setup program displays the new disposable password to the user who records it for use in future installations. The complex password is used to enable installation of the software, and it is deleted after installation is complete. Subsequent installation or re-installations, if authorized by the terms of the software license agreement, are performed using the same procedure, except that for each such installation, a new disposable password must be used.

One claim recites a method including: obtaining first media comprising imagery or audio; obtaining second media comprising imagery or audio; aggregating the first media and the second media to yield a unit; and using a programmed electronic processor, examining the unit for the presence of a digital watermark. Another claim recites a method comprising: upon encountering imagery or audio content, performing a screening operation on the imagery or audio content; based at least in part on the result of the screening operation, determining whether to derive or extract identifying data from the imagery or audio content, said act of determining uses a programmed electronic processor; providing the identifying data for storage in an electronic data record. Still another claim recites a method comprising: using a programmed electronic processor, extracting identifying data from data representing imagery or from data representing audio; automatically dialing a telephone number; providing the identifying data for telephonic communication to a device hosting the telephone number; receiving signals representing a human voice command; and providing signals for telephonic communication to a device hosting the telephone number.
