    • A tab extending from a panel is inserted into a channel through an opening in a vertically aligned bracket supported by a pole. The bracket includes a pair of plates positioned in spaced overlying relation and connected by a brace to form the channel between the plates. The panel is first moved in a vertical direction until an upper tab is inserted through a slot formed by a stop positioned in the channel at a predetermined distance from the brace. The upper tab guides a notch in the panel to receive the stop until the stop contacts the bottom of the notch. Thereafter the panel is rotated in the channel until a lower tab is aligned with a second slot formed by a second stop at the opposite end of the channel. The panel is further moved until the second tab is positioned in the second slot to guide a second notch in the panel to receive the second stop and securely retain the panel in the bracket channel.

    • A crossarm type support having a vertical post formed from a rectangular tube having a set of internal splines. A spike element molded from polycarbonate plastic resin is inserted in the lower end of the post and held in place by a pair of spring loaded pins. The post is installed in the ground by pushing on a horizontal portion of the spike element with the heel of a shoe. A crossarm is provided at the upper end formed from a second rectangular tube having a first channel along its lower edge and a second channel along its upper edge. The vertical posts and crossarm are mortised to form complementary notches for mounting the crossarm to the post. The post and internal splines interlock with the crossarm and channels to provide internal support and rigidity to the joint. The lower crossarm channel is formed to receive plastic hooks for attaching a hanging sign and the upper channel is formed to receive a set of plastic inserts for receiving an interchangeable rider sign.

    • A signpost structure including an elongated support post and an information-bearing cylindrical sign attached via an edge stiffening and mounting member to the support post and capable of presenting information to a viewer within a range of 360*. The cylindrical sign is formed by joining the side edges of a rectangular, flat, flexible sign blank formed of a highimpact organic plastic material. The support post is preferably a foursided tubular member having equi-spaced openings provided longitudinally in each side for permitting the cylindrical sign to be attached to any one of the four sides at any one of several possible points along the length thereof.

    • A modular sign consists of an H-shaped metal frame. The pointed legs can be driven into the earth by stepping on the cross rail. Plastic side tubes are slid over the upper arms of the H. The tubes have slots cut through the side partway down from the top; the edges of a sign board are inserted into them. The top and bottom edges of the sign board are inserted into slots cut into the sides of a top and bottom tube, respectively. The ends of the top and bottom tubes are inserted into holes bored through the side tubes, which are of larger diameter than the top and bottom tubes. Thus the sign board's edges are completely covered by the tubes. For extra strength the top tube may be fastened to the side tubes at either end. For indoor use, the lower frame legs are slid into feet in the shape of an inverted T for stability.
